Considering that FF was recently a PS exclusive (although originally started on Nintendo), would this sway people over to PS3?  Also, the PS3 version of FF13 doesn't need disc swapping like the Xbox360, and possibly the PS3 version may be more superior.

Depends on advertising and bundles.

If Sony advertise it exclusively, and have an exclusive bundle like the Lightning edition PS3... PS3 > 360 on that week without a doubt.

As for actual copies of the game... PS3 > 360

I really doubt that someone would rather choose the PS3 version because of the Xbox360 disc swapping. Fan of the series specially FF X and FF XII will most likely buy the PS3 version. But new comers can go either way. Since I think that there are more fans than new comers so PS3 version will sell more and not because of the disc swapping "issue" of the Xbox360. I mean disc swapping is no issue at all.

Edit: Didn't realise that this post was about Hardware. Then my answer is more Xbox360 will be moved in the States, because I m pretty sure that Microsoft is going to do a bundle of FF XIII.

if sony is smart they will treat ff13 as an exclusive like microsoft did to modern warfare 2...bundle, exclusive extras and advertising.

the ps3 will sell more hardware hands down. this is one of the reasons people origionally wanted to get a ps3 sinse the very beginning. no doubt it will sell fairly well on the 360 but the only reason for this is the userbase. the 360 was not made for ff13, its only a bonus. the ps3 was made for ff13 and people have been waiting for a long while now and im sure after the success of past ff titles on sony hardware the newest one will be very beneficial to the brand once again. but like carl said marketing will come in to play for both console sales.
