Forums - Sony Discussion - GT Demo was horrible!

^ That's pretty impressive. I only managed a 1:45 after 2 laps (controller too). I'm just not used to the professional physics as I always play on standard. I'll give it another go later today.

the controls are touch sensitive. don't approach it in a "button mash" mentality. the degree of turn is based on how far you push the stick in a certain direction. I have some buddies that are really into "sim racers" and they say to play one really well you should get the stearing peripheral just like if you really like fighter games you should get an arcade peripheral. I am a casual "driver" player so I put it on easy and turned down the sensitivity

As i read it the TT demo does however showcase the physics, not the graphics etc. But how the car handles and feels is the same as the one in the GT5 game. And THAT's what im ranting about..

It's not the physics and car handling that suck, it's you. Learn to play it properly then come back and complain if you must.

How can i play it inproperly? And what am i doing wrong if i get screeching tires at low speed and spinning around at speed below 40mph? Its not even possible in real life. Definitive racing simulation my behind.

Not even possible in real life? Not with a car that barely has any power, correct. But if you take that care for a drive on the ice, than you have the same result. Your tires can't get grip so your car spins, even when driving below 40mph. It's the same thing as driving with a really powerfull car on asphalt and putting too much power on your tires than they can handle, even when standing still.

Sure.. i understand. So how would you recommend me to slowly accelerate in-game? Push down my X button gently 1/4 of the way until i gain what speed? And then continue on to 2/4 of the way?

Use the right analogue stick, that way you can vary your acceleration. If you use the x button, you are basically flooring it the whole time, which will lead to massive wheel spin and screeching, EVEN at 40 MPH!

yeah im used to racing sims i play alot of nascar on PC and PS3 high traction control feel better to drive but slows u down a bit

but i understand wer the OP is coming from there is alot missing in the demo as for how the car drives it not like they didnt drive like that in past gt games

theres some settings/options missing that will help the cars drive better just wait 4 the full game OP it will b better

the X-Button? You haven't even looked up the controls but you rant?

you DO realize you are embarrassing yourself here?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Oh no.. my internet alias feels embarrassed. How will i ever dare go online again. Thanks for making me realize it though.

Whatever, I'll judge for myself rather then taking your word for it based on the fact you said you never play racing games.

Yes, this demo was horrible but it doesn't reflect the final game. And those who are saying that the cars were slow, this is not a hollywood film, not a burnout, not a need for speed or whatever, it is a SIMULATION. I think at least thos who have their driving licences will understand this...

Favourite Games:

PS: Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy VII. PS2: Resident Evil 4, Shadow Hearts Covenant, Final Fantasy X, Silent Hill 4, Soul Calibur III. PS3: Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted 2, Mototstorm PR, God of War III, Modern Warfare 2. Xbox: Suteki, Fatal Frame II DC, Jade Empire. 360: Dead Rising, Lost Odyssey, Dead or Alive 4.

Sony/ Polyphony already said this isn't a demo for the game. It is just using the physics engine, for a competition.

Example - Look at the graphics in it, then look at the graphics of video's already released/

You said it all, you don't play race car games, no experience, trust me I have played them all, GT is the best in my opinion, there are some other good ones to, but not many, and if you are going 40 mph and hit a turn wrong darm right your going to crash or loose control, one other thing to think of , front wheel cars and rear wheel cars are going to handle much much differently. I don't know much about this new nissan nut the skyline was dope. Give it another try and learn the controls you man have a change of heart. good luck
