Forums - General Discussion - Blu-Ray beats HD DVD in software sales 55:45 week ending 10/28

Your all looking at it wrong

PS3 has a blu-ray player built in so off course it will sell more movies (bigger install base then HD DVD players)

Once those cheap HD DVD players hit then we can really try and compare sales.

ie HD DVD could have 1000 players PS3 could have 10000 units.

If 1000 people buy transformers and 2000 out of 10000 people buy some blu-ray movie it will still appear as blu-ray is selling better.

What did MS do with EA?

I think he is meaning Peter Moore incharge of EA.

I don't think Peter is incharge of EA, he is incharge of a Division of EA and that division is EA sports last i heard.

This is true, he is most definitely not in charge of EA. If Zackblue is alluding to one of those ridiculous conspiracy theories where somehow MS intentionally made the 360 version of Madden better, let's just put that "debate" away right now before anyone actually starts believing that drivel (and yes, I consider any conspiracy theory, regardless of subject drivel).

Please, really...blame the inept development philophies of EA, not MS for the "not-as-good" PS3 version of Madden (which I'm sure really is not that much different...I think the differences, whatever they really are, have been kinda over-exagerated by the press/fanboys).

It just so happens that the 360 has the larger userbase in the US, so EA developed first on the 360, then ported to the PS3; and we all know how ports from 360 to PS3 work (read: not so well). To suggest MS paid them, or something, to make the version worse dileberately is just asinine. EA is in the business of making money, and a bad version of Madden for the PS3 doesn't help themdo so (compared to a good version). Please realize how ridiculous that theory really is and see that EA just sucks a devoloper.

We don't need anymore baseless "theories", especially when we have enough "WB going HD DVD" and/or "WB going BD", floating the web...they are are entertaining though, and I especially enjoy (to an extent) reading people's "explanations" for this EA/MS theory...I wonder where people come up with this stuff. At any rate, sorry for drifting off topic. Back to the main discussion.
