Custom Robo

Custom Robo is a franchise by Noise Inc. where you battle robots (robos) against other people.  Battles are between 2 and 4 players where everyone starts with 1000 HP and loses when they hit 0 HP.  Each robo has 5 parts which you may customize:

• Frame - The robo's body.
• Gun - Your main attack
• Bomb - Secondary attack.  Usually slower than your gun.
• Pod - Secondary attack.  Usually used to stop your opponent from approaching you from a certain angle or trap your opponent for other attacks.
• Legs - Governs run speed, jump speed, jump height, jump distance, etc.

With between 30 and 70 parts in each of those 5 categories, the game has lots of room for customization and varied playing styles.  And of course, there are also illegal parts to be found as well that are even stronger than normal ones.  Each robo battle takes place in a stadium called a holloseum and of course there are tons of those as well.  Fast robos may do well in small stages but they quickly show their limits on stages with ice.  Flying robos are great sometimes but tend to be very vulnerable on stages with lava.  The stage can be just as big of a threat as the opponent if not paid attention to.

The current best incarnations are Custom Robo Revolution (GC) and Custom Robo Arena (DS) however I am not satisfied with that.  I want one on the Wii, with 4 player multiplayer ala the Gamecube one as well as online play.

What about the rest of you?  Am I the only one here who'd really love a Wii version of this?

You are not the only one. d21lewis also wishes for another Custom Robo. The series has Extreme amounts of potential, but it needs better development.

I would love a good mech game on Wii. I grabbed Overturn on WiiWare, and it was decent enough to justify the Wii points, but it sure could have used more depth. Even some control customization would have made that game a lot better.

Damnit I was hoping you found a link to announce the title for the wii.

^^ yea ......some info would of been nice, but one can hope. GC and DS version were fun i wouldn't mine seeing one on wii with battallion war type controls ..of course with online and gc controller support too just in case

I know my son would definitely want this. But it's got to have online as well as 4 player local. Aiming with the Wiimote would be great too.

I bought the first one on the gamecube in a boxing day sale at 9.99. I actually really enjoy it even if it was not the game of the year. That the kind of game that could really benefit from a better budget. It got some good potential.

Also, you did not mentioned there was some on the n64 only released in Japan.

I loved Custom Robo in the Arcades, it was wonderful, if it came to Wii, it'd be another reason for me to pick one up this christmas asap.

Seriously WoW, you know AND liked Custom Robo Battle Revolution? I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that really enjoyed the game (great plot twists eh?).

With that said, I really really want a new Custom Robo. It would be perfect for the Wii! They should do the gameplay with a Sin & Punishment touch. Oh, and maybe they can fix the voice sounds.

I liked the DS game so much I went out and found the GC one.  I just really wish the GC one had online.
