Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The official Endless Ocean: Blue world thread of pure Joy and Awesomeness

Beautiful screens there. I was thinking of getting Endless Ocean's sequel awhile back. I think I can get used of the new name too.

I have been thinking about buying Endless Ocean(1) since about Summer 2008 and I have yet to get it and was still thinking about buying it again about last week and still didn't...

It looked interesting but kind of stupid at the same time so I was like "Ok um... No" everytime I was about to buy it. Endless Ocean Blue World looks very fun and more interesting then the 1st one. It also looks to me like the game will improve over the 1st game in a big way. So my Endless Ocean opinion has now gone from "Kind of stupid" to "I want this game" with Blue World!

Also I have some questions(I am sorry if these were answered in the thread but its big so I didn't want to read any of it but the opening post) :

1.Can you die in this game?
2.How many different animals are in this game?
3.Does this game come with Wii Speak for free?(I was looking on Gamestop and Toys R Us and it said E.O.B.W was $30 and E.O.B.W with Wii Speak was also $30 but this is only on those 2 web sites.)

Don't worry, I was kind of the same way at first with the original EO. But it's really a great game once you play it and get a feel for what it's about. And you're right, this sequel seems to improve upon it in every way, basically.

To answer your questions,

1. No. You have oxygen, which (very slowly) depletes over time. Dangerous animals can attack you, at which point you will lose a bit of oxygen. So they can't actually physically harm you, and no, you cannot die. It's rated ages 7+, so it's all pretty mild. I'm not sure what happens when your oxygen runs out, but I'm almost certain the game will automatically return you to the surface.

2. I read somewhere the game contains around 350 different creatures. I'm too lazy right now to look it up, but if you want to be certain, Google around a bit, you'll probably find it, eventually. But I'm pretty sure it was about 350.

3. This is a bit of an iffy one... Some retailers have it listed with Wiispeak, others not, so... I guess at this point it's just not known for sure. Maybe some retailers can choose themselves whether to include it or not.

I don't get it, this game seem so boring, not intriguing at all, and yet people like it. o.0?

I guess it's just not my cup of tea.

That's probably it!

It is one of those games where your initial gut feel is probably the best guide as to whether you will like it or not. On the whole, anyone who has even the mildest of passing interests in diving/fish/water seems to take it heart and love it, while the few who don't just don't get to first base.

So I won't try to persuade you otherwise - unless you have ever watched one of those underwater TV documentaries without actually turning it off.

I didn't plan to buy it. I thought the first one was endless enough for me, but now I decided to get EO2.

I blame Cheebee's thread and TWRoO's current profile pic. >_>

Ok thanks wow 350 different animals! Also if it doesn't come with Wii Speak I am about 60% sure that I will buy it while if it comes with Wii Speak then it goes up to about 90%.

Just a heads up for those interested: as you may or may not know, with the game's release drawing very near, the official (European) website for EO2 have had some major upgrades a while ago. They include some movies, lots of pictures, and quite a lot of interesting info on the game and its different modes...

Imo it's therefore quite unnecessary and useless to keep updating the thread with all the info that's now finally become commonly available on the official websites. So... here's the link: For Europe (English).

Of course, the exact same website is also available on Nintendo's Spanish, French, German, Dutch and Italian pages if English is not your thing. Dunno about even more languages, could be, but I didn't check.

The american website hasn't really changed: there's practically no info to be found there, so if you want to check out the game, you're better off visiting the European one.

Also... only 6 more  days!

Accidental marketing.

I should get Nintendo to pay me for these services.

PIRATE PANTS!

Damn and double damn. You guys get this Feb 5th? I have to wait 'til near the end of the month. And it looks like the wifi is still region locked. It says 'you can play with a friend in Europe'. Ah well...

Looks fantastic though. I'm going to be eating my heart out as you guys get to play for 20 days before I do.
