ultraslick said: I looked at my PS2 games selection to help you out here, and I started laughing at the fact they were almost all M rated games. Those are the best but I also enjoyed the Gran Turismos, SSX3, Shadow of the Colossus, and the Guitar Hero's. p.s. Has anyone seen the movie " Reign over me" with Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle? They play Shadow of the Colossus in that game, and they have a blast with it. The movie is very good- and it glorifies the game quite a bit. |
I've seen it, but I'll have to disagree with your critical opinion. It's one of the only movies I've ever walked out of - and the friend I was seeing it with agreed. Cheadle was pretty good in it, but Sandler just isn't a serious actor, and he shouldn't try to be.
But anyway, on topic, here's my recommendations:
-Shadow Hearts 2: Covenant is one of the best RPGs available for the system. I'd recommend playing its prequel first, but it's "M"-rated, and so is my other favorite PS2 RPG series (Shin Megami Tensei). :\
-Odin Sphere is a deep beat 'em up with RPG elements along the lines of Valkyrie Profile. So long as you don't mind the occasional slowdown, it's tons of fun.
-Fatal Frame and its sequels are some pretty creepy Japanese horror games. (And only rated "T"!)
-If you haven't played them on the 'Cube, Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2 are old-school-style 2-D beat 'em ups with a twist: you can control the "speed" of the game with your character's powers.
-Katamari Damacy and its sequel are extremely fun pick-up-and-play games.
-If you haven't played it on other platforms, play Beyond Good & Evil. Seriously. Do it now.
Ha, I never realized how many games were rated "M". That must be pretty hard for you.
"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."
