I've said this multiple times, and probably everyone has heard it already, but here goes again.
I think KH1 sucks. I think KH2 is simply fantastic. The original has one of the worst cameras ever put in a videogame, your party members are idiots and the game controls really badly (come on, was it so difficult to implement camera control with right analog). The story was ok, nothing incredible, but nothing to criticize either, it just got ruined by a very poor gameplay (actually, not gameplay, the idea is great, but the execution was really poor)
Move on to the second, and you have a game that fixes every single flaw of the first. Camera control, at last. This fix alone makes it infinitely better than the first game for me. More intelligent party members, perfect controls. Skippable cutscenes! Plus, they added the drives that are simply amazing. The new more complex story fits the game really well too. So, in all, KH2 is everything the first should have been, and more, much more

This is one of the major reasons why I couldn't stand KH1, I would keep dying on a certain boss and everytime I would have to watch that long ass cutscene again. I still enjoyed the game, but I think Kingdom Hearts 2 is better.

Yeah, I can't count the number of times I watched the scene pre-Ansem fight. And it wasn't even me playing (I had already given up on the game), it was my bro...

Noob, I beat him on my first try. For some reason whenever it looked like I'd die, I always got healed. It was crazy. It was basically impossible to lose the battle for some reason because I'd always get healed really quickly. Hated Riku's third battle though.
OT: No idea so won't vote.

Died on the easiest Ansem battle for some odd reason. The one with Donald and Goofy allying you and Ansem attached to that thing... and I fucking died!
Hades Cup is pathetic, Sephiroth is holy shit difficult at level 45, insanely easy at 75. Riku III was easy as hell too.
In fact, Ansem IV was the only thing I died on except Cloud and Leon (though I didn't bother to use items since it wasn't required to win).
Opinion: KH2. Crapload of replay value (even more in Final Mix+ (which I reaaaaly wanna get)), and awesome combat system. KH1 was more difficult and more boring, but I loved the story. It was just so pure and sweet and sad. But unfortunately synthesis and Gummi sucked beyond doubt but I loved the optional bosses (even if Kurt and Phantom were really easy).
