I think Arkham asylum fully deserves to be on there. Never before have I enjoyed a game so much.

me too, i enjoyed it as well, but i felt as though i wasnt satisfied to the fullest when i beat the game, it felt like it was missing betetr boss battles imo, anyways, awsome game, definitly deserves a spot

I'm glad others have disagreed with that statement. It's like saying the Academy award for best picture should go to the one that is enjoyable to the majority of movie goers.

@ Buzz haters because of "pop culture"....ummm...hello!!! You're video gamers, you ARE pop culture; there are even Buzz quiz packs about video gaming. And Buzz has moved beyond quizzing about standard pop culture stuff (movies, music and TV). And what's better you can make your own quizzes and make them as anti-pop culture as you want.

if 12 people sitting in a corner think a game is great and no one else does, then it shouldnt win. its clearly not goty if only 12 people like it.

All as I can say is that at least the PS3 list doesn't have any place holder titles to make up the numbers. I mean SF IV makes GOTY list for 360, but no one would dream of putting it in the PS3 list of nominations. And Wii has Guitar Hero 5!?! Which wouldn't even be on the radar for either 360 or PS3.

I do like the uniqueness and variability of the Wii list though: Music game, classic platformer, survival horror, bloodfest. 360 has some good diversity too. Disappointing that PS3 list is top heavy with shooty games (yes Uncharted is shooty, even if it's not a "shooter")

Either IGN has overlooked some great games on the other systems (we know it has for PS3 a la Demon's Souls) or the other systems are struggling to put up 5 truly deserving games this year.

I get the feeling in the case of PS3 it was a case of being spoiled for choice so someone had to get a bum deal. In the case of the other systems it was "gee what are we going to put in that 5th spot?"
