XBOX 360 officially owns America. No way the ps3 can catch up now.

it was never going to be able to catch it up

When doing comparisons to 2008, remember that last November for NPD was a five week month vs. a four week month this year.

November NPD Sales Numbers Hold a Suprise

November NPD numbers are in, and... well, this news editor is pretty surprised, honestly. While the Wii came in first with a staggering 1.26 million units, the Xbox 360 managed to outsell the Xbox 360 by more than a hundred thousand units. This is particularly surprising given Microsoft's silence during Sony's post-Black Friday sales number gloating. Meanwhile, Modern Warfare 2 was the beast everyone expected it to be, posting sales of 4.2 million on Microsoft's console, and Assassin's Creed II and Left 4 Dead 2 both posted very strong debuts with 794 and 744 thousand copies sold, respectively.

Console Sales Numbers for November 2009

Nintendo DS - 1.70M
Wii - 1.26M
Xbox 360 - 819.5K
PlayStation 3 - 710.4K
PlayStation 2 - 203.1K
PSP - 293.9K

Wii didn't come close to 2008, but it beat 2007 (981k) by a decent margin.

360 matching it's best holiday yet (863k last year) and beating out PS3 the real shocker. lol, poor Sony. And PSP looks like it's in death throes as well, not a great month for them...

Holy s***!

Xbox 360>Xbox 360 confirmed.

Also, WTF @ Mario Kart! lol, it's never going to end!

Ahh, I love NPD. The one time of the month where people show their true colors. It's funny to see the facade erased, and have everyone let their inner fanboys out. It's truly pathetic.

Way more entertaining than the numbers though.

And great performance for Modern Warfare 2! Forget the haters, it deserves ever copy sold.

Does this exclude Black Friday?
Because Nov. 28th sales
PS3 sold 762,259
but this says that throughout this whole month PS3 only sold 710,000

2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

My Fanboy Speech...

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!
