Forums - Sony Discussion - More problems connecting BlueTooth devices to my PS3

So I've been having the problem for a while where sometimes my PS3 just won't allow any of my BlueTooth devices to connect to it.  I can usually finish that by switching on and off the switch in the back or if that doesn't work waiting a while and trying again (like a day, not a few minutes).

Today, something new has started happening.  Before, when it wasn't working it just wasn't working.  I couldn't turn on the PS3 with a BlueTooth device (DS3 or remote) and couldn't do anything when the PS3 was on.  Today, I can turn on my PS3 with my remote or controller but then it doesn't actually connect.

To get around this I tried plugging my controller into the PS3 using my shitty 1 foot USB cable and the controller goes to play 1 while it's plugged in but then as soon as I unplug it, it just flashes and then eventually turns off.

Anyone have any clue about this?

If I remember correctly, there is a reset button on the back of the controller. You have to use to something small to reset, like a paper clip or toothpick. The hole should be on the right side of the controller.

Good luck

I'm just saying...

you have to plug in the controller before you turn on your ps3 (via usb), leave it plugged in turn on your ps3, log on to your user profile (if you have different profiles, otherwise it will login automatically)wait until it stops flashing, then it will have completed the synchronization process, all controllers have to be synchronized this way, the remote is different tho you register it to the ps3 by using the ps3 xmb menu.

it's the future of handheld

I also had the problem with the controller. It was after the latest update. It just blinked a few times after pressing the ps button and then it turned off.
I had to restart the console a few times with the controller plugged in and then I unplugged it and it worked.
That problem occured a few times, but now its ok

Firmware 3.15 has been designed to specifically focus on the bluetooth sync issues.

This has been happening long before 3.0

Then how come I would have to keep resetting the controller?  It has full battaries and this happens pretty often (though the issue where I can turn on the PS3 and the can't connect is new).

I never connect my controllers to anything else (I actually never even use my SIXAXIS, so it's just one controller) and then I have my remote using the Logitech BlueTooth connecter for it.
