I'd say Drag me to Hell was easily better than Army of Darkness. As fun as AoD was, it was just a bit too hamy. It had no underlying horror or solid emotional state. Just an hour and a half of "lets beat Ash up" Which was great, don't get me wrong, but it lacked the balance the other films had.

and anyways, what was a better horror movie released in the last five or ten years?

I'd agree with that. Despite my friends' protestations, I'm not a huge AoD fan. The first two Evil Deads were way better.

As for better horror movies in the past ten years, I'd start with Dawn of the Dead, The Descent, The Mist, 28 Days Later, and 1408 for starters.

Personally, I really liked 1408.

Notice I left off the Saw movies. The first one was good (but a little gory for my tastes) and each one became progressively more annoying as time went on. I haven't bothered to watch the last two.

I can't say if Dawn of The Dead, 28 Days Later (loved this movie) or 1408 (love this one as well) is better, but I also like Shaun of The Dead. Simon Pegg is awesome.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I consider Shaun of the Dead a parody film. I can't call it a horror flick.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

I just watched "Night At The Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian". Biggest pile of garbage in recent years.

All game based movies!!
Dead or Alive
Onechanbara Vortex
Super Mario Bros
Street Fighter
Yakuza
Bloodrayne
Dragon Ball Evolution
Legend of Chun Li
& many more...

Has nobody besides me seen the MUTANT CHRONICLES?

Anyone seen "Freddie got Fingered"? My friends all consider it awesome, the kind of thing that is so bad it becomes great. To me, it wasn't even that. It was just horrible

The Doctor will see you now  Promoting Lesbianism -->

August Rush. I particularly love the scenes where the camera closes up on the 'child prodigy' playing the cello and they are quite clearly not his hands. Freddie Highmore is so miscast but he's not the only one. Robin Williams comes across as a child rapist. It probably has the worst series of contrived coincidences i've witnessed in a movie and it's shamelessly sentimental. It has that car crash quality that makes me watch and cringe every time it comes on cable. Fucking awful!

Playing: Borderlands(great co-op,HUGE amount of content),Too Human(better late than never lol),Saints Row 3(Penetrator ftw),Minecraft 360,Harry Potter Lego.

Patiently waiting for:  Tomb Raider, Borderlands 2

I wouldn't have noticed at all that you left off the Saw Movies at all. They aren't good horror movies.

The Dawn of the Dead Remake was a pretty great film, specifically since it took it's own direction. The Descent was visceral and the Mist had a good atmosphere. I don't think I'd have enjoyed it merely enough if I wasn't high though. 28 days later was a sold film and 1408 was great because as far as I can tell it's the only other movie made like Drag me to Hell in the last decade or two.

I'd still put Drag me to Hell at the top of that list though. I just wish we could get more movies in the over the top awesomely fun horror genre. Drag me to Hell and 1408 is just two dam movies. I want more awesome movies!

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Spiderman 3 is the worst movie I have seen.
