Forums - Sony Discussion - Yahoo!: Don't buy a PS3 for Christmas because of dead battery.

I have NEVER heard of ANYONE who had their controller breaking because of the battery.. I know 3 people who dropped their controller and it broke but 2 of em actually got em fixed themselves.. I've dropped my PS2 and PS3 controllers combined over a 1000 times.. and nothing ever happened (well my PS2 controller is bad now but thats because of dust)

Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous

Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5,  Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

Are you fucking kidding me? EPIC FAIL

actually they only charge 10$ for a battery replacement.

at any rate u can use it connected to the USB.

o.O the battery is easily replaceable at that!

The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/

I do agree that battery is gay on the PS3. The original usb cable is incredibly short so i can't recharge and play at the same time.

Once fully charge it can work for around 20 hours and charge in about 2 hours. You can also charge via any usb device (computer), stop your exageration. They are including free rechargeable battery with their controller and you say that it is gay?!?! Do you think you can still play on another console while you charge the AAs battery?

right, so i'll plug the controller on my pc while playing on the PS3. Great idea. You are a genius.

and yeah, i can play on the 360 while charging the batteries. The cord is actually like 10 feet long.

Okay. I've had the same controllers since March 07 and the battery works fine. So they're saying controllers should use AA batteries that end up being thrown out and end up in landfills?

u know they are bigger USB cables also, and way cheaper to get than 360 accesories?.

for conformt almost everyfeature of the ps3 lets the consumer save

Common guys. Yahoo is not saying that you have to buy a new controller everytime you drain the batteries. They are saying you have to buy a controller EVERYTIME the battery actually stops functioning (which we know is SO often).

Media like to rag on certain items that do not have "user replaceable batteries." Such as most iPods that I know of.

They do have a point though. Its nice to have the option to put AA batteries in. Especially if the cord is so short like some people are saying (also gay that it does not charge while the system is off).
