Forums - Gaming Discussion - A few reasons why Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of the best games ever made

I played MGS3 on a friends PS2 -he got my Xbox for a while. And I have to admit, I really, really enjoyed it. It was -for me- the best PS2 game and one of the best the last gen.

The most thing I loved was that there was no cross-hair. I f you wanted to aim, you had to use the ironsights.

Fantastic game. Though I liked two better. If only i got it before they killed the online. i still do the "gun point" thingy that ocelot does. Great game

MGS3 has more easter eggs (and better easter eggs) than any game I've ever played!

Bumped for great justice.

One of my favorite games of all time, my favorite PS2 game, and the best looking game of the last generation.

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

MGS4 gameplay and graphics + MGS3 everything else = perfect MGS game. I could never really get into MGS3, sadly, because the gameplay was just so outdated.

Has anyone played both the original and the Subsistence release? I did finish MGS3 but as I said, the camera killed everything for me in that game. So I'd like to know if it is much improved to the point of making it a batter game.

I'd sell my original Snake Eater copy for a Subsistence one if so.

MGS4 gameplay was lifted, borrowed and hacked together form previous MGS games. MGS3 actually had more gamplay elments to it such as healing your wounds.

Also Boss fights in MGS3 destroy the boss fights in MGS4...which again were almost all borowed from previous MGS games due to the 4 beauties being re-incarnations of old MGS bosses.

All in all, I don't know how anyone can claim MGS4 had better gameplay if they played MGS1-3 before they played part 4.
