This game should be played on PC regardless. It feels like it was designed to be played like Baldurs Gate.

On the 360 this game is a lot of of fun...sucks hours from my life, like no other game since Fallout 3.

That being said, if I had to buy it again, I'd but the PC version; the top down view would make the battles much more interesting/tactical I think.

It does, I tried having battles in the 3rd-person view on PC and it just feels... wrong, I can't describe it other than that. Countless times the viewpoint helped me to plan how, when and where to place spells, traps etc. The story is what really sucks you in mind. Damn! I wanna go home and play it now!

It's actually pretty epic if you play a warrior with a 2 hander.

edit: I played the PS3 version

I think PS3 = Mass effect is looking likely ?

I think this has nothing to do with this thread?  Reported.

I played a Warrior with Sword & Shield on my first playthrough, might choose a Dwarven 2-handed warrior after my current (City elf rogue). I still found the spellcaster (basically Morrigan) to be one of the most useful offensive characters. The top down view really helps when placing spells tactically.

Actually, I was wondering how well spell placement works on consoles. I can't imagine doing it 3rd-person.

When you select a spell with an area effect, the game pauses and you can choose where to apply the spell. It's actually not bad at all. Effected characters glow so you know who it effects. I.E. enemies glow red, and friendlies glow green.

The main problem I had on consoles was applying tactics in battles. In most cases Mages stand at the back. But in some cases you can't actually target them in order for someone to take them out. There were a few rooms where I had to force people to run to them in order to target them.

There was one room specifically where this was annoying.

Seriously? Cut him some slack. The OP is to do with a multiplatform game released and developed by Bioware. Mass Effect is made by Bioware and he obviosuly wants to play it on PS3. It might be tenuous, but a link is there.

I think I know the fight you're talking about, if so, I dropped a blizzard and a tempest on their heads, ran out of the room and watched XP pop up over my head. Mages rule!

Sorry, not buying it.  There is no link relative to this thread...
