Forums - Sony Discussion - Jack Tretton... We have a Problem.

Well sorta.

anyway just got back from vacation and was REALLY tired from all the hectic chaos from getting to one hawaiian island to another, ANYWAY...

I bougt a few new ps3 games along with a couple really good (imo) 360 and PSP discount games to, at anyrate... i started playing Force Unleashed - Ultimate Sith Edition on my ps3 (didn't even get around back to tekken yet.) and i played for a good 2+ hours, so yeah skip to the point now i bet your thinking...

Well i left my ps3 on for like 4 hours+ trying to re-sycn my fucking trophies again, my question is will my ps3 be okay? because intense heat for long amounts of time = a YLOD ps3 just waiting to happen somewhere somehow down the line.

oh and hai guys i'ma back and prettier then evar!!1!!

My PS3 was online for 2 years non stop ( and not asleep ) before I finally got a YLOD.........

So you got a way to go..( and the first 2 months it was doing Folding@home non stop)

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

I left my PS3 on for 12 hours none stop one time. And its the 60gig launch and no problems with it still. So I believe you're safe dude. Don't worry.

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

oh and i forget to mention i was outcold for those 4 hours, just adding the detail meaning 4 hours would be my best guess.

I thought it was worse for electronics to always be turned on and off constantly. The constant heating and expanding then cooling and contracting has to be worse than just constant heat.

Speaking of YLOD, my 60gb EU model just got it on Monday. Bought a 250gb slim on Tuesday evening and now I gotta look out for a heat gun since I don't want to buy an expensive one just to fix it. I just want all my files back :(

You should be. I leave my on all the time (250GB Slim) to Fold, and used to with my 80GB MGS4 PS3. I suspect yours will be ok.

I always wanted to ask you what you did in Life with Playstation.  That makes perfect sense.  Now if you could only explain your frequent visits to Home.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

I was spying on CGI in HOME yesterday.... I found something intriguing

My frequent visits to Home is me using the service.

Do you not like Home?

I think I am indifferent to it.  Personally, I would prefer the development resources get spent elsewhere.
