Where's Gears of War 1 ?

I’m a European gamer, if you check my games list you will see I do buy a lot of games for my PS3 but then I’m 36, working for the local paper and can afford (just) to enjoy the latest releases. I think as the numbers for PS3 ownership go up then (stating the obvious) so will the software. I can’t see the PS3 shifting the amount of software that the 360 does but I would never say never. In the end as long as the Devs & Pubs are making a profit it the numbers are not such a big deal. So yes come on people support the industry, buy more games regardless of system

The 360 is THE shooter console of this gen. If you haven't noticed, the 360 only pushes ridiculous amounts of numbers for games n the FPS genre. I think the demographic for PS3 gamers is more spread out, but at least that ensures games hitting over a million or two each.

Gears of War was timed exclusive and now is only x360 console exclusive. This list contains with only real exclusives.

I can add Gears of War, Mass Effect and L4D, but picture won`t change much.

360 is not a shooter box, I'm an Rpg fan and formerly a Pc gamer. (I still enjoy Pc gaming but find myself spending more time and money on 360 now). And majority of my game collection are Rpgs on 360 this gen. There are lots of great console exclusive Rpgs on 360. like Divinity 2, Risen (great game play!) Fable, Mass Effect etc.
And I don't own even one single Fps game.

No, what doesn't change much is semantics. The fact that 360 can have so many more 2m+ sellers while sharing them with PC shows its strength selling, if anything. Expecially since this forum is exclusively talking about PS3 game sales vs 360.

Oh, and Little Big Planet/Resistance: Fall of Man are now on the PSP, so they aren't PS3 exclusives. (And if we're talking Sony vs Microsoft Exclusives, games like Gears 1/Mass Effect/L4D2 etc are still limited to Microsoft platforms)

If you are going to compare software sales by system, you shouldn't cherry pick individual titles but should use overall sales. Also note the 360 has been on the market for a year longer than the PS3/Wii.

Sales sometimes doesn't really apply to the quality of the game or rather by the name of the game. I made a thread about three months ago about why FF series are selling amazingly and others RPGs that are as good as a FF title don't get high sales number or don't sell at all. It's about beeing a franchise. Before Call of Duty MW, there were no Call of Duty above the 3 Millions copies sold. I m pretty sure that any call of duty to come in the future will sell amazingly. It's not easy for a new game to come around and sells a lot. Most people believes in franchise games. It's a bit of shame but I am also one of those people. When a game out of the franchise games come out, I rent it first and play it to see if it deserve buying it, but when a franchise games come out, i just go and buy it. I am one of these kind of people and I also know a lot that are like me, or should I say that almost everyone else I know are like that.

Well around half my PS3 games are Sony so you cant be hating on me lol

Simple... SONY has diverse types gamers who enjoy different style of games Example : I am Japanesey gamer....I only play Japanese styled games, how many Japanese games has SONY given the western audience???
