Nice @ Layton. Good to see it wasn't that far off from previous openings. Hopefully legs will keep it higher than the previous ones, since lifetime sales have consistently been decreasing for the games in Japan.

Kind of funny they translated tomadachi to friend...people will be like...What friend collection? and others will be like 'Wow didn't knew friends was popular in Japan.

wow PS3 does well, so does Wii. Last year same week:

Wow Wii doing almost same numbers without any software, PS3 outperforming again without software too!

And the week after the one i mentioned, the Wii did 55K without software, so i'd imagine that next week if no software was released, the Wii would do 50K. That could give us an idea abt the upcoming boost of SW3 and NSMB :)

And yeah DS is a beast!

man look at the effect the slim has had in japan! i thought the wii was supposed to drasticaly pull ahead of the ps3 this week? well its only got a few weeks left before final fantasy is released and then its all ps3 for a while!

@kopstudent89 Yeah, both consoles are holding up compared to last year. I'm very curious to see what impact SW3 and NSMB will have on hardware. And obviously it's not going to be nearly as impressive of an opening but I wonder how MW2 will do as well.

DSiLL is doing mighty good. 75k is very strong for the second week and together with DSi the DS should see sales over 100k this week as well. I think sales over the holidays will be much better for this console than what everyone expected. The same cannot be said for...

PSPgo. 3,9k this week. Oh dear, how is it possible this console keeps falling every week with such low numbers to begin with?
