The PS3 cases will not change...they are small enough..

Ps.:

Global Warming is a lie.

Eco-box has blu-ray cases as well...

http://www.viva-eco-box.com/about.html

The biggest problem is the global human population and not consumption.  We cannot continue to grow the population without over pilaging resources and creating unsustainable environmental issues.  Everything has a balance and sustainment breaking point.  With the population of humans on the planet constantly growing we get closer to that breaking point every day.  The population of any given medium sized mamal species (like we are) should by in the 10's and low 100's of millions...  NOT billions...

If the human population was 500 million rather then 8 billion, there would not be near as many environmental issues.

What problem? Global Warming? This is not a problem.

The problem is the pollution on rivers and farms etc...in the current monetary system, kill de nature(so, also us) is a good thing for the economy.

The population is not a problem. There are Resources for 10+ billion people(if not 100+). There are enough water and food for 10+bi, and almost infinity energy. With a recycling program for ALL products in the world, than our resources is unlimited. There is a cycle in nature, and we only have to utillize this for our favor.

The problem is that fossil fuels are finite. If we run out of fossil fuels before we have a replacement ready, then we will experience quite a setback until we do have replacements. The longer we can make the oil last, the better prepared we will be. Simple as that.

Oil may not be a fossil fuel...

http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=58682

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abiotic_oil

There is a theory that oil may be a product of the earth's natural processes... It has been given more credibility lately, as there have been massive oil discoveries, much deeper then would be possible based on the decaying dinosaur theories...

As for world population, it is a problem, not only from the enviromental, but also from a socio, and economic perspective.... The sooner population starts to fall to a much more sustainable level the better off this planet will be.

definetly cut costing...

10 years ago that the enviroment caring wasn't just as "in" as today customers would call it cheapish...
edit:but yes less plastic is good...

Ignoring the fact that global warming is completely and absolutely accepted in the scientific community as much as the theory of evolution and gravity you guys do realize that there are a thousand other reasons to save and conserve resources right?

I hate when people with non scientific backgrounds watch one youtube video and think they understand it all. Its like arguing with the cooks that think we never landed on the moon, they always believe their personal opinion is more truth than scientific fact.

The definitive evidence that video games turn people into mass murderers

Wow. There is so much ignorance on this site. I actually thought people who play video games might be more intelectual and informed and less macho and retarded about environmental issues. I was clearly just stereotyping and wrong.

@1337 Gamer
No evidence?
Why dont you read an IPCC report? They publish all the current evidence. There's hundreds of pages of evidence in each report based on thousands of independant scientific studies. To say there is no valid scientific evidence is honestly one of the stupidest things ive ever read.

I already thought the 360 boxes were flimsy--this just makes it worse. My Dragon Age box came this way too and I hate it.

I'm all about the environment, but I think instead of making shoddy cases, they should find a way to make sturdy cases with a different material.

This is one of the few things MS has done that I approve of. Congrats.

And hey, for the "its too flimsy" people, at least this isnt like those cardboard cd cases, like those new Beatles remasters. I'm literally afraid to take my CDs in and out of their cases.

PSN: chenguo4
Current playing: No More Heroes

I just got Troy from Walmart. The case looks just like that. It is flimsier but not much. If it will help the environment I can't see a problem with it

Aslong as it doesn't destroy discs I'm all for minimising the impact of the games industry on the environment. So I for one have no problems with it.

PLEASE NO THANKS

let the car & industrial people worry about that!

For example the industrial people who make cases for games and DVDs?

Oh wait... that's exactly what this is about.

If you don't like the environmental argument then take the economic one: Cheaper to make. Cheaper to ship. Sell at the same price. Make more money. And now that you can say you're saving the planet people will even feel good about buying their games in flimsier packaging. It's a win-win-lose situation, but hey 2 out of 3 ain't bad.

If a company really cared about the environmental impacts of plastic packaging then they wouldn't used fossil fuel based plastics at all. They'd use plant based plastics. There are companies that make bottled water using plastics wholly derived from plant sources. Do that and you can make your game cases as sturdy as you want and be kind to the environment at the same time.

Be sceptical about climate change by all means. But please don't discredit healthy scepticism with wild conspiracy theories.
