2010 will be better. It will have an entire year at $299 rather then just 3 months of it.

By the same token though, Aug-Dec 2010 will likely be (significantly?) down from Aug-Dec 2009.  Unless there's another pricecut, which is possible ($249?).

No the beginning of this year was horrible for PS3 with inrcredible low numbers.

2010 is probably the peak year but if it hit 199 in 2011 this could be the peak year too.

Wii peaked in 2008. And the Xbox too. For an Xbox comeback natal has to be a huge hit. Because it would have done something which was never achieved before. Another peak six years after launch. I highly doubt that this would be huge. And the Sales would have to be higher then the 2008 sales for Xbox thats completly untypical and would be an achievment of historical magnitude.

Why would PS3 peak when it hits $199 and not 360 (for the Elite) or especially Wii at even lower massmarket pricepoints ($149, $99)? Honestly, I don't think any of the 3 have peaked yet...

Sony still has some stuff yet to offer, so not yet, hard to say how the PSWand will be accepted. Some well known titles will help, like God of War 3.

MS may be at its peak year, but still might have some steam in it yet. The 2010 offerings look promising.

Wii peak year will defined by the anticipated Zelda title, which rough estimate is holiday 2010. If Nintendo acts right and brings out a Starfox Wii game in 2010, this can really rekindle the fire, just like how NSMB has for the current holodau season.

January 1 to End of August will be MUCH better in 2010 then 2009 though. PS3 only sold a measly 4.67 million units from Jan-August 2009. I could see PS3 doing double that amount in 2010.

$199 will be its peak year

Wow...another $100 off next year...Sony is doing amazing things on the production side to reduce the cost that much...

no i c ps3 being higher next year it should sell a hell of alot more from jan-sept 2010 than it did in 09 then i c gt5 coming out in EU and NA in the fall of 2010 possibly even being bundled with the system instead of dropping the price to 250$ they will add gt5 to it for both EU and NA that will result in sales being equal to this years holiday season

as 4 wii yeah i think 08 was its peak same for 360 not many consoles have ever came back to sell higher after they had there peak year if anything 360 may have a better year only b/c it doesnt have to do a hell of alot from b4 unlike the wii but since the market is gettin more and more saturated of these 2 system it will be hard for them to have a better year

no it's the year which marks the beginning venture of it's peak ascent.

I'd say PS3 peaked this year and if their isn't a price cut next fall it will begin to lapse into YoY losses. Some will argue that Sony has a great line-up for 2010, example God Of War however all three platforms have superb line-ups for 2010.

I'd say if the next Zelda drops next year then 2010 will be the peak year for the Wii. As many have pointed out the Wii is in decline but I think with the right software next year it will rebound.

I think the 360 peaked last year, with Reach coming next year they may slow down the decline but I think we've seen the best we'll see for the 360.
