Forums - Nintendo Discussion - What happened to Wii motion + ?

I think its odd I haven't heard much about it lately. There are only about 8 games I know of that support it. Wasn't this supposed to be really big for the Wii and make the controls so much more lifelike. Then why does it seem Nintendo haven't pushed it all.

Is WM + being ignored or am I completely out of the loop?

It's an accessory. Like the Wii Zapper, the Wii Wheel or Wii Speak.

Yeah..

Pixel Art can be fun.

Nintendo is making a Zelda that uses the periphiral

Do I need to say more?

I LOVE ICELAND!

not every game benefits from motion+.

all new motion based games like tennis, golf, sword fighting, baseball etc should and probably will (and to a great extend already do) use it. what else should?

I was thinking this last night, actually. I rationalized that the device is still fairly new to the market and that it will take time for games that utilize it to be released to the world. Somehow, I don't think that the PS3 and 360's motion control devices are going to face similar software shortages.

Thoughts that I tried to block out:
Making a WM+ compatible game divides the market
It's just another Zapper/Wii Speak/Power Pad/Wii Wheel
It hasn't sold well enough to make it viable for developers

There's just been no tracking of it outside copies of WSR. People bought it and play it. More games will make use of it in 2010, remember, its less than 6 months old now.

You know what...I didn't even think of this until you made this thread. Very interesting indeed. Nintendo need more first party games that support the peripheral. Rumors say that the next Zelda will, which would help it quite a bit. Still though, there's no way they can ever make WM+ exclusive games because it's impossible to get all ~60 million Wii owners to buy it.

Really?

Aonuma can't stop talking about it and its implementation in Zelda Wii.

Of course I know about Zelda Wii but other than that what else have we heard about WM+ future.

I assume Red Steel 2 is held back in the hope that the WM+ userbase grows.

If not, I reckon they are re-coding the game so it works with standard Wiimotes too.
