Forums - Gaming Discussion - Amped Lied to me!

In my attempts to broaden my xbox library, I was quite pleased to find a used copy of Amped. I didn't know much about the title, but the price was right, and a snowboarding game sounded like some nice variation. And there it was right on the box, 1-4 players. I was really in need of a game that had some multi appeal. So I grabbed it, popped it in...and then it all went downhill(accidental pun) pick three players, select riders, select hill, here we go! wait... Why is it just player one? Yup, by multiplayer, they mean you take turns going down the hill. This is the epitomy of squeaking by on a technicality. The only difference between amped's 4 player and a single player game is that in a one player game you'd have to pass your controller around, where as in amped each player gets their own controller... to take turns playing. There really is no point to this thread except for me to vent at Microsoft. Damn you big M, you lied to me!

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

You should really consider the SSX franchise for the PS2. They're all kinda old games so they're pretty cheap. I played SSX 3 and it was fun as hell. I wonder how Snowboard action can be applied with the PS3.. and the Sixaxis. I know they already made a Wii spin-off and apparently it sucked ass... Maybe because of the Wiimote.. hmmmm

Planning on getting a PS3 sometime in July-August.

Anyone else ever realize just how much that Av looks like Vin Diesel?

Now you're just encouraging the guy. Normally, when someone makes a post like that, the correct prcedure is to ignore, or to take things far from seriously.

Vin Diesel will not play Kratos in the GoW movie!! I shall not allow it!! IGN scores for the PS2's games. SSX - 9.3 SSX 3 - 9.5 (They don't have 2 for some reason... or maybe Tricky is No.2, I don't really know) SSX tricky - 9.4 SSX on tour - 8.8 Gamespot gave practically the same scores with a 0.2 difference plus or minus. But what really astounds me is they gave SSX Blur 7.4.. and considering GS is so in love with the Wii, that's a lame score. Oh and I just found out that they're not exclusives so you can get 'em for your Xbox too.. so I really recommend these games. At least get 3 and Tricky.

Skip on tour, 3 is the best of the franchise with the most polish. It's literally hard going back to 1 after playing 3 for so long,.

Blur is fun...I don't know what you've been smokin...if you've even played the game...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

We all know the history behind Wii game scores. As the control system (suddenly) is more open and flexible, programming "perfect" Wii control is going to take years to get right. Its also much more subjective, as different people expect different motions to do different things, and so on. As a result, its much easier to "disagree" with the implementation of control - and hence give the title a poor score. As the scores for Wii Sports have shown, there isn't yet a correlation between Wii title scores - and how much fun/popular they are. I haven't played Blur, but Im hoping to at some point in the future - and believe that I would enjoy it.

Actually, reviews for the control have been very positive* But there are other aspects to the game. And reviews have often mentioned that the game has generally less in it than previous incarnations. Either way, seems like a great game * Of course some reviews say the game is a virtually unplayable mess. But those reviews fall kind of flat when the majority of reviews say " the game is tough to learn at first, but controls like a dream once you get it down
