Forums - Gaming Discussion - Which platform has best 2010 exclusives lineup?

all three consoles have a nice year next year. actually next year will be the best year considering the anticipating game "final fantasy XIII" will be releasing. so that alone will jump start 2010. i personally can not decide which one has the best considering i own all three and i treat them equally and as said above in my post, all three consoles have a nice selection going into the next year.

I struggle to see Modnation Racers as an expected quality title. Seems like a poor man's Trackmania. I'll have to check more about it later.

@z101: already added SMG2. I'll only add Dragon Quest X and Tatsunoko. Some don't seem special or have shown nothing to warrant attention in the thread. The Silent Hill and FFCC games have release dates December 2009 in NA, plus SH is for PS2 too.

@carl2291: Only confirmed exclusives. Also, those that don't have a release date set must be almost certain will be out in 2010, which is why I struggle in keeping Fable 3 in the list.

I'll get this out of the way right now. Deus Ex 3 will probably suck the big one. It's coming out of consoles and I would like to share the following quote with you:

""Multi-Kill" which kills 3-4 enemies" - Augmentation.

In other words, shit, and I fully blame the consoles for ruining the best game ever made. Strike it as being a TOP game.

Also Diablo 3 is not coming out next year, they have said many times that they will release only 2 games next year and have confirmed them to be SC2 and Cataclysm, also a some stockholder slideshow it was shown that Diablo 3 is future project, not a 2010 project.

Yup, it's the fault of consoles that the developers chose to put their game on them, despite clear differences between them and the PC.

Elitism is fun.

I'd like to know what those clear differences are, because I have been finding way too much dumbed down console mechanics in my games lately....

Let me prove it to you what happens when consoles touch a good game:

Deus ex -> Deus Ex 2    (deus ex was ported to a console much much later)

MW1 -> MW2

Thief 2 -> Thief: Deadly Shadows

System Shock 2 -> BioShock (it wasn't a bad game like the rest on the list, but still worse)

UT2004 -> UT3

I can keep listing and listing, games just get worse when they go on a console, also notice Dragon Age, that game was more or less made solely with the PC and none of the console dumbed down crap made it to the PC version, and it was amazing.

@carl

It was ported without any thought going into the gameplay when it came to the console, so the console version didn't affect the PC version one bit, like Dragon Age.

I don't disagree at all. It's just that you blame the consoles for doing what they do, instead of the developers for putting the games on the consoles and dumbing it down. The consoles didn't do anything.

Well the government blames cocaine and marijuana all the time when they should be blaming the people who use them exclusively, it's not the marijuana plant's fault for doing what it does, that is self-defense and growing. But you still see plenty of peple blaming the plant itself. It's also blaming guns or killing people, not just the person, they jsut do what they are supposed to.

im not looking for a debate or an argument.

its my opinion. dont be so arrogant.

will all those games run on all pc's? no. nowhere near.

If you actually said it was your opinion, or worded it that it was your opinion... Then you wouldnt have got a responce from me.

Instead you just said that is ISNT a platform, not that "i dont count it as a platform" or anything like that, you just said it WASNT one.

But if thats the way you want it... Fair enough. Il leave you to it

Well now that there is an official rule about exclusives, the 360 looks like crap. It's nice to know that I can look forward to playing games on a really good platform, even if then don't happen to fit in this nice little pigeon hole.

The only PC game I am looking forward to is Diablo 3, which was already announced to NOT be coming out in 2010. I will get a link if I can remember where I saw it.

Honestly, I would have to say I'm most looking forward to the 360 line up due pretty much ME2 and Halo: Reach(with a dash of Splinter Cell and Alan Wake) , with PS3 coming in a hot second, since I'll be getting FFXIII on that (sorry 360 only guys, it's where it belongs), GT5 and HEAVY RAIN BABY! I'm really hoping something on the Wii will be worth my time soon, can't tell you what might be yet though. So #3 for me would be DS, and i don't want to get started on that long ass list of great games. Then in a distant #4 would be the Wii, and not listed would be the PC.

Just added DQX and Tatsunoko for Wii, Last Guardian for PS3. I didn't add FF vs 13 because it's too hard to predict it's release date, since it could very come out only in 2011 in the western world.

EDIT: I already removed diablo 3, and I might make a DS and PSP list after the others are "finished".

If you are basing things from a western release, you may aswell remove DQX then

No release date for Japan yet, and we aint even got DQ IX over here yet.

So because other people blame inanimate objects for problems in society, you think it's okay for you to do so as well?

Well I'm so glad to know that you think that way. And also, you're comparing illegal drugs and deadly weapons to gaming platforms. While I always do appreciate a good analogy, come the **** on. Cocaine is an addictive drug, and guns are a weapon that can kill people. But it was Eidos who chose to develop Deus Ex for consoles, and it was their decision to dumb down the game for it. That's it. Maybe one day PC gamers will get over this elitist attitude of theirs, because it's really annoying.

I don't see why you won't include Sin and Punishment 2, The Grinder or Sky Crawlers. Those are are big, quality games. Sin and Punishment already has some good reviews out, The Grinder and Sky Crawlers have gotten some very positive previews as well.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."
