Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii's 2010 line-up going to crush every prior year!

Alright so I've been thinking alot lately about Nintendo's 2010 line-up. I thought about past years, up untill now I've considered this greatly. Nintendo has had at least a few big titles each year, yes I don't like all the Wii series games but even without them years like 2007/08 were great years to be a Nintendo gamer. So can Nintendo's 2010 line-up actually put Nintendo's past years to shame?

So Will Nintendo's 2010 line up crush the competition?

2006

2006 was the launch of the Nintendo Wii and some would consider 2006 the best release line-up on the Wii. With two notable first party releases, Exite Truck and Legend Of Zelda Twilight Princess. As a launch line-up Nintendo managed to get a few big titles in one year. But not only Nintendo released software for the Wii. We also saw RedSteel and SplinterCell come to the Nintendo Wii. The line-up was pretty decent, however some gamers were upset because Reggie promised 7 first party launch titles, at the date of launch only two existed.

2007

2007 was the release of Mario Galaxy and titles like BattalionWars:Wii, MetroidPrime Corruption, WarioWare:SmoothMoves. Many gamers still complained with the lack of first party software. The line up managed to push millions of consoles. Many would argue that 2007 was Nintendo's finest year on the market. With Mario and Metroid the 2007 line-up was very strong.

2008

2008 is arguably the best year for the Wii. With two heavy hitters SmashBros:Brawl and MarioKartWii both coming out in the same year woth other notable titles like Animal Crossing:City Folk. Not to mention casual gamers got their groove on loosing weight in an interesting and enjoying way playing WiiFit which despite being from the Wii series managed to catch even my eye. With so many great games can the 2010 line up beat the 2008 line up?

2009

2009 was a more lack luster year with not to many notable Nintendo titles early on in the year. But come fall their was the next installment of WiiFit and NewSuperMarioBros graced our screens. Now of course two or three notable titles doesn't make the year too much of a contender for best Nintendo line-up on the Wii. But it definatly makes 2009 yet another great year to be a Nintendo gamer.

Finally 2010

The year to come is 2010. And many will argue 2010 could turn out to be the best yearly line-up Nintendo has launched since the maiden voyage of the Wii into the Revolution. In 2010 we will see Mario Galaxy 2 and very likely the next Zelda and Pikmin games. Other notable titles like Kirby are also scheduled to come out next year (Supposed to come to Japan this fiscal year). So can 2010 be the biggest year in Wii gaming to date, we get a great start with notable games like RedSteel2 not to mention all the games that have yet to be announced.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So do you think that 2010 has the potential to be better then any year prior in the Wii's lifespan?

Can a new Mario and Link adventure beat Brawl and MarioKart?

What do you think will go down in history as Nintendo Wii's best yearly lineup?

No offense, but the previous years weren't exactly bustling with big game after big game on the Wii...

Yeah, even if it were just Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M it'd be atleast as good as 2007, but I'm fairly sure we're going to get quite a bit more than that.

I honestly don't see Zelda, Pikmin or Kirby coming out next year.

But who cares, we'll get Galaxy 2, Other M, Endless Ocean 2, NMH2, Red Steel 2 and many others! :D

I see either Zelda or Pikmin being released(one of the two), but honestly I don't ever see Kirby Wii being released at this point :p

Also, just for the record, Sin & Punishment 2! :D

i don't see Zelda coming out till 2011, im confident they will show a trailer at E3 2010

i think 2008 was a disappointing year for nintendo, i even struggled to find a game on wii in 2008, i only brought no more heroes and a few multiplat games that year, 2009 was Ok, and 2010 is looking up to be a great year, i reckon it will wipe the floor with 2006, 07, 08, and 09 lineups and 2010 is incomplete

Given that Miamoto said that Pikmin had only a small team, and there been no mention even of a trailer or even a single piece of art I doubt Pikmin will arrive next year. Kirby has been listed as coming out every year pretty much since 2006 but we've had absolutely nothing of the game yet. Zelda probably wont come out next year because its Zelda. Miyamoto probably hasn't upended the tea-table yet.

And SMG 2 & Metroid: Other M won't make next year the best ever on their own.

To be honest, it doesn't really take much to beat last year, let alone this year. I made a purchase list a couple of days ago and I couldn't seem to find more than 8 Wii games I wanted, let's hope that changes next year!

This year was the worst by far. Not a single Wii game bought this year by me.

2008 does probably have the best lineup so far with Mario Kart and Brawl.

All I can say about 2010 lineup is that it's gonna be a hell of a lot better than 2009's line up. 2009 was pathetic.
