unless someone's doing an sql injection attack, I can't really think of anything. MySQL should be able to handle any data you throw at it so long as the queries are ok, and throw an error if not. Make sure you're escaping all strings properly.

Huh?

 2008 end of year predictions:

PS3: 22M

360: 25M

wii: 40M

LoL. My sig changed.

The quickest to help would be with a shell account. E-mail me if that would be possible, otherwise I will assume not.

What's the setup of the database? (Most common types are MyISAM or INNODB?)

In general, mysql should be able to survive an ungraceful reboot without corrupting data. That is assuming your hardware is good and doesn't lie about writes to disk, etc...

Might be cause I rebooted the server, could have been halfway through adding some data. Oops!

Hang on in there everyone, we are goin to get all this sorted.

Sorry tho all those who have signed up / made changes, will have to do it all again I'm afraid...
heh, well that might have something to do with it. Any database worth its salt will have atomic commits though, so you should be able to roll back to a useable state without too much hassle

Is the SQL server up to date? You rebooted the system? Maybe the table wasn't saved (but that would be really strange)

Easy as pie.

That sounds strange. A reboot should not have done anything to data that was already saved. It's unrecoverable unless you have a tape back up.

Guess that makes sense, I got 2 of my mates to sign up yesterday and either of them can't be found on the search.
