Forums - Nintendo Discussion - EA pokes fun at Nintendo!

I don't know if they make fun of Nintendo, really. More like making fun of garbage third party games...and Christians.

Funny ad. :D Don't know why Wii fanboys start bringing up well EA needs Nintendo more than they need them.

Folks, this is guerrilla marketing -- not necessarily a (direct) smack at the Wii.

EA has been doing that for a while (see above in the thread).

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

EA also poked fun at Mario Kart Wii by releasing Nascar Kart Racing.

That was hilarious.

lol... Wii is the lowest money maker for EA... EA doesnt need them.

And what company just laid off a bunch of their employees and cut their 2010 lineup by more than a 3rd?

And what company doesn't sell third party titles as well as the competition? Obviously the PS360 is a lot more viable... why else wouldn't the Wii get as much support with less dev cycle/costs?

I hope you realize that third party software on the Wii is about to surpass all software on the PS3.

EA is just mad that they're losing monety and want to blame someone. sadly the wii wasn't made with rated M hardcore gaming, that why Dead Space: Extraction didn't do well

It was a joke, its not intended to blame anyone for anything.

The fake ad was funny because its actually believeable a game like that would be released on the Wii. There are probably people still looking forward to it.

M rated or not, releasing a game that isn't shovelware is always risky for the Wii.

Wii is their second biggest money maker and most stable money maker currently.

Don't get confused by all that anti-Wii propoganda.  That admittedly, even EA is now throwing around to cover its failing profits.

Also, am I the only one here who thinks the bigger story should be that a company is trying to use religion a a 'joke'?  Even going so far as to double onto that tying religion into stereotypes as 'going along with the system' and insinuating that Wii is selling more because people are buying them 'like sheep'.

This 'joke' is tasteless beyond just the simple Wii bashing.  It pretty much hits on multiple levels of PR stupidity.

Reading too much into this?

Also, the fake ad and page, doesn't show or mention either a Wii, a motion controller or anything related.

Defintitely illegal to do that.
