I am still amazed at the fact that no one seems to realize , someone hacked into a computer stole all the emails and published them online, That's scarier to me.

Why?  That kind of thing happens all the time.  The same thing happened to Sarah Palin for example.

A govonors email is more important then a scientists... whose email and research should be open source anwyay.

Everyone's email is important, who cares if its Sarah, I can see Russia from my house, Palin.

Because it happens all the times don't make it right, it's actually sad yu've accepted it as a  normal thing. The weird thing is this is going nowhere but a fail attempt at derailing change which is taking so long anyway.

First off, if these so-called "Scientists" were actually following the scientific method hackers wouldn't be required to get information on global warming; and can you actually trust the findings of people who have perverted the scientific method so heavily? People often are critical of any scientist who received any money (even if it is only $100) from oil companies because they believe the conflict of interest might bias the results, and yet you seem willing to blindly accept the findings of people who have gone out of their way to change their findings to meet a political interest.

Beyond that, a person has no right to expect privacy from a non-personal email account ... and, while they shouldn't have their account hacked and posted on the internet, an email from an individual in a company/organization should be given similar respect to internal memos from that company/organization; and I don't see many people arguing that leaked memos are an intrusion of privacy.

I haven't accepted a damn thing, frankly the whole global warming agenda has gone nowhere, oil companies are making more money each day. We have become so dependent and frankly I know they would do anything to put a stop to any sort new ideas.

i don't believe things, i analyze and question things. I side with common sense and frankly I don't see what these email true or not will change.

What is so wrong with oil companies making a profit while providing people with a product they desire (and makes their lives so much easier)?

It's the entire basis of modern investigative journalism.

So, no it's not sad I accept it.

If it wasn't for excepting stuff like this modern scandals of big corporations and special interest groups would never be discovered.

I believe the whole Enron scandal was discovered a similar way.

Thus the reason I SAID nothing has change. There is too much invested, too much money is made.

Except things have been changing ...

R&D on batteries over the past 100 years (primarily driven by consumers wanting portable electronics over the past 25 years) has advanced them to a level where they're only an order of magnitude less energy dense than gasoline; and we're at the point where we can almost produce a viable electric car for people.

The only reason why things appear to be the same is simply because of how amazing gasoline is as a fuel ...

Electric cars has been created and introduced years ago, gazoline is mazing, but there could better and more efficient source fuel. The problem is the biggest companies in the world and the most powerful countries which owns them won't allow this anytime soon.

You mean like the EV1, which cost GM over $80,000 to produce and they determined that consumers were only interested in it if it cost $30,000?

Why oh why didn't GM jump on the opportunity to lose $50,000 per car to release the EV1 to wide public! It must be a conspiracy because that's what a (moronic) documentary claims!

It's news to you new technology is expensive. I just want  these companies to try because they are killing this Earth. We need to find better ways, that's all.

In what way haven't companies been trying?

Companies have been spending tens of billions of dollars per year on research and development, and inching their way towards the technology to replace fossil fuels. Complaining that it hasn't happened yet is kind of like complaining that videogames haven't achieved photo-realism yet ... Just because we know of a goal doesn't mean that it is quick and easy to achieve it.

I didn't see this in the thread yet, so might as well post it here.

RealClimate.org has posted their response regarding the leaked emails:
