^How can you call those bad decisions when they've made more money than Sony MS and Sega did in gaming combined, seems like they made the only smart decisions



 

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

they did.

and this guy knows nothing about hardware or gaming  story, the saturn was a pain to develop, with 2 cpu,and sega die in the dreamcast area.

for the same reason GC didn't success while it was on a disc, still was not de decofacto format.

 

Saturn was difficult, not impossible, and why would business suits care about how hard a time that the programmers are having as long as they make money?

Also, GC had no technical flaws, it just didn't. It had enough storage, and was build to be easy to port games to.

u just agree saturn was difficult to develop, it have 2 technical flaws, it graphic unit wasn't a shaders based one, and the GC disc wasn't a DVD.

it not storage a problem though it very similar to the PSP UMD, but rather DVD drives were cheaper and so were DVD discs.

he was talking about back in the N64-Gamecube days, unfortuantely they suffered for two generations because of their decisions, but lucky for me there decisions on the wii have paid off and it is a success, like you said now they make more...

he was talking about back in the N64-Gamecube days, unfortuantely they suffered for two generations because of their decisions, but lucky for me there decisions on the wii have paid off and it is a success, like you said now they make more...


  Actually, even then they mad a profit, they have had only one quarter (three months), in their history where they have not made a profit

Lets face the facts:

Sony and Microsoft continue to lose millions of dollars each new month with their consoles.

The gaming industrie, in most parts, losing millions of dollars too.

Nintendo earns millions of dollars each month.

And by the way. In the next month until March many long awaited Wii Games will be released (Red Steel 2, No More Heroes 2, Monster Hunter 3, Endless Ocean 2, Sin&Punishment 2, Darkside Chronicles, Fragile Dreams, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, etc. etc.). Let's wait and see how this games perform. :)

Ugh, can't get the damn table to work. Just click here to see the profits. The pic showing the company names are dead, so the order is:

Sony, Nintendo, Sega, Microsoft

Nintendo still made a decent profit on their N64 and GC, though they really made tons on the handhelds. Sony's profits never get quite as obscene as Nintendo's (look at that 2009), mainly because they take losses on hardware sales, and don't sell nearly as much software.

Impressive list - pity that maybe 2 of those will reach 1 M sales (MH3 is more or less sure of it, Red Steel 2 has good chance) and rest will strugle to even get 500k (Tales of Graces probably will but it's not mentioned here)
