Huh? What are you talking about? I'll address any angle you could have been coming at:

1. They aren't all commercially released on CD or MP3, but soundtrack doesn't have to mean commercially released. It could just be the music within the game. Not everyone else here mentioned games with official soundtrack CDs either. I know Guitar Hero, GTA and Tony Hawk have actual CD releases of the music in the game.

2. Every one of these games has in-game music and tons of it. GTA has more music in it than most other games mentioned here.

 

 

They use songs from other media and feature almost no original music of their own.  Thus they do not have their own soundtrack for the most part.

Sure they do. It's called a licensed soundtrack. Have you really not heard of this? Films, television, videogames, they all employ this. A soundtrack does not have to consist of anything original at all and yet it's still a soundtrack. I can show you this across different forms of media if you really need the explanation or proof of existence. I assure you it's real.

I noticed you said "their own soundtrack", but I looked in the OP and didn't see that mentioned at all in there. There doesn't seem to be a rule in this thread limiting the choices as to which gaming soundtracks can be used. In fact, many people put soundtracks that borrow tracks from earlier games in the same series.

just put there DJ Max games OSTs in any order. i have those songs on my mp3 player, on my pc, in last.fm favourites - those are the only soundtracks from games i listen outside of those games and i listen them quite often.

Thank you for reminding，i've already forgotten some games without official soundtrack,like Ikaruga,Shenmue 2,many FC games etc.Oh,i have to rearrange my top 5.
