Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why does Nintendo still need Charles Martinet?

The fact that some of the lines from COD4 were in MW2 kinda irked me. The game is going to make eleventy billion dollars and you guys can't come up with some new dialogue?

For the same reason Disney needed Wayne Allwine up until his death.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

That's like asking why an FPS developer records new sound effects for their guns in every sequel-- you want it to sound the same every time?

Yes I do!  Every glock and AK should sound the same!  Actually...a lot of them do because they do use the same source.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Well, Charles wanted to be the voice of Link.

I would get ticked if they kept using the same sounds for each game.

He says new things practically in every new release. How the hell did you not notice? He also voices Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, and I think Baby Mario and Luigi.

Reminds me of the episode of the Simpsons where they showed the lady who did the for the Roadrunner was on there.

"They fired me after I recorded his voice....Meep!"
"Don't you mean: Meep Meep?"
"No. They were so cheap that they only had me record it once. That way they only had to pay me half."

HAHAHA

it's because there's a policy in Japan that says that every voice-over should be re-recorded for new releases.

Ikue Ohtani is the best example. her voice-over role for Pikachu has remained exactly the same for more than 10 years and yet she still voices the character in every game or anime he appears in even though there's no new script added.

Ninty would be incredibly cheap and evil too, to dismiss him just to save a little money.

he obviosuly loves his job and does great work, I dont see why they would get rid of him
