Forums - Sales Discussion - DSi LL fist shipment in Japan 150k, first week sales 100k seems likely

The DSi LL first shipment will be similar to the PSPgo (~150k). Sinobi says the system has a high chance of selling over 100k on launch week (2 days). (From: Gaf)
So it seems that DSi LL will indeed be a hit. Much bigger than PSPgo. I was myself sceptic at first since the japanese seems to love all things small when it comes to portables but this seems like it will get the green light over there.
What do you think, will it become a huge succes? What do you predict for this year in Japan? Do you think it will make it big overseas as well?

Man that crow tasted nasty.
Anyway. O_o the DSi LL is more expensive than the regular one. Who keeps buying them?

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

Seems to be no problem with further shipments on this one. I´m a bit annoyed myself to be frank because I really want a DS with bigger screens and I just bought a DSi just a couple of weeks before the DSi LL was announced. Now I want this damnit!

samus aran rules,

I think you can trade in your DSi for a DSi LL. Of course that depends on how attached you are to your DSi.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Isn't this just a $200+ DSi with a bigger screen?

This gen is crazy. Handheld prices go up 5 years after release instead of down. O_o

Oh that would be great. I already love my DSi but I´m not attached to it lol. Two things that are clear advantages with the DSi LL compared with the DSi is the bigger screens (a plus to me anyway) and the fact that the batterylife supposedly is longer. According to Nintendo from what I´ve heard the battery lasts 13-17 hours on the lowest setting compared to the DSi batterylife of 9-14 on the same setting. With the brightest setting the difference is 1 hour longer on the LL.

Lol. In Japan the portables or more precisely the DS rules over all others. Seems like people go gaga over every new redesign over there. With this the DS could see continued dominance in Japan well into 2010 for sure.

No doubt the DS will last for a while to come and for good reason, but I have honestly found no reason yet to upgrade from my DSL.

DSL is at a nice $129.99. I like that price for my handheld. So much that I own 3 of them.

People are exaggerating the price. The device is much bigger, and only costs 1100 more yen (or ~$12).

The real price hike was the DSi. It is amazing how Nintendo has been able to keep prices up for so long (the DS is 5 years old already). I honestly don't feel like I'm ripped off by the price, though.

idk... i expect this version to flop.. that just me

hello how are you.
