Forums - Sony Discussion - the gap between 360 ps3 is less than 500,000 in others now

360 still ahead of the PS3 in North America. Only region I care about because I live here in the good old USA.

The Ps3 is outselling the 360 2:1 in Europe, during the holidays that will transform into a 3:1,and put an end to the gap leaded by 360.

OMG, if they launch PS3 Ultra Slim right now Sony would overtake X360 overnight!

That's pretty good going considering the year and a half x360 headstart and the PS3's launch\former price.

It will never overtake x360 in NA but the EU, Japan and others combined is a much, much bigger fish.

The PS3 will overtake the 360 in Others during December 2009.
PS3 will never overtake the 360 in NA - almost 9 million deficit in that region.
PS3 will win two out of 3 regions but will not overtake the 360 in total sales until 2013.

If the $99 Arcade bundle proves one thing- its that MS can compete with SONY on that price point..sadly for MS, SONY is at $299 so I cant EVEN imagine the IMPACT of a $199 slim... Next year I would expect a $129-149 arcade,$199 elite to UP the stakes... SONY reducing the price on the SLIM until xmas next year seems unlikely. PSPgo isnt performing as well as expected and SONY has taken a hit. Others is quite a price sensitive market( 360 killed PS3 after its 2008 price cut), so a price cut is pretty much all MS has for now. Natal non-withstanding. We'll see what GT5 and FF13 do for the PS3. I'd expect them to help shorten the gap by another 1 mil units easily.

If PS3 keeps growing YoY by double digits, and 360 shrinks or grows at 4-8%.. it wont be long before SONY and MS walk shoulder to shoulder. MS already has lost a few percentage points WW in the last few wks..

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

owner of : atari 2600, commodore 64, NES,gameboy,atari lynx, genesis, saturn,neogeo,DC,PS2,GC,X360, Wii

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

Beating X360 in Others is the beginning of beating X360 worldwide. That's how Wii did it, you could do it too. Go PS3 beat that bastard X360!
