Forums - Sony Discussion - I need some technical help with my PS3.

My HDTV is fried (it's 4 years old so no free replacements).  When I plug in my PS3 to my old SDTV with the composite cables I can't see anything, it is still sending a component signal.  When I plug in my Wii, it already knew that it was using composite cables and switched back to interlaced automatically.  Is there any way to fix this with out having to plug my PS3 into someone elses HDTV and resetting the output?

 Of course this happens when I finally have a game that kicks ass for PS3.  I hate my luck.

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.

Just reset the display settings. To do this just turn off the ps3 and then press and hold the power switch for about 5 seconds. This should do it for you.

FROM MY ORIGINAL POST:
"When I plug in my PS3 to my old SDTV with the composite cables I can't see anything, it is still sending a component signal. " - In other words, I already changed the cables and I can't see the screen to change the settings.

@krik: that doesn't work.

@krik: Nevermind.

Thank you so much. It worked.

My prediction for YEARS END:

WII - 18.3 Million

Xbox 360 - 15 Million

Playstation 3 - 8.5 Million

I had the same problem with my PS2... I had to dig up the RCA cables for it... what a pain in the butt.

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.
