The date is April 9th The game is Super Paper Mario The gameplay is a unique meshing of 2d and 3d for a gaming experience thats sure to be as innovative as it is awesome. Sure it won't be Mario Galaxy, but this first Mario fix on the Wii is shaping up to be one sweet looking game. So here's the place to swap SPM hopes and dreams. I figure my modness is what gives this thread "officialdom"

Just going to say that I can't wait. "Thousand Year Door" was my favorite title of the last generation, and I also love Intelligent Systems (Metroid, KidIcarus, Fire Emblem, etc...) to death - possibly more than EAD. Ever since this title was announced I have been waiting for it... and the wait is almost over. Here's to hoping it gets a fairly quick PAL/Australian release...

I'm definitely looking forward to it...it could be a game that may not sell tons right away, but it'll probably do well over time...it looks really fun.

i didn't really like the first paper mario as much, but this one i am definitely looking forward to.

I think the art design department has been lazy. Because of the mix between 2D and 3D, this game could have featured some stunning environments, characters and effects. Even Super Mario Worlds look better from artistic perspective IMO.

First I wasn´t looking forward to it... but since everyone seems to get crazy about the title I´m really getting interested. Just go on hyping it - this is the way million sellers are done. Word by mouth is much more important than advertisment or ratings. For me it looks like a mix of Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 combined with a stunning art design and lovely characters... this could really be a must have and if it get´s good ratings I´ll definitively buy it

It's beauty is directly tied to it's simplicity. And there's nothing wrong with preferring older games art style (although I disagree with you on this one). :)
