first they design it so half go faulty, so they get to sell an extra 50% and when sony start taking off after the slim release, stop a million working, ha ha

hats so wrong with that, Sony would probably do it on the PSP if they could because its killing game sales. Isnt any different from stealing anything from a shop, they deserve to be banned. If you dont wanna spend money on games either dont buy them, buy less or wait til theyre cheaper

Another source that says that as many as 1 Million consoles have been banned: http://www.informationweek.com/news/hardware/peripherals/showArticle.jhtml?articleID=221601267

"Well certainly with the Xbox 360, we had some challenges at the launch. Once we identified that we took control of it. We wanted to do it right by our customers. Our customers are very important to us." -Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb (10/2013). Note: RRoD was fixed with the Jasper-revision 3 years after the launch of 360

"People don't pay attention to a lot of the details."-Yusuf Mehdi explaining why Xbone DRM scheme would succeed

"Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity; it's called Xbox 360,”-Don Mattrick

"The region locking of the 3DS wasn't done for profits on games"-MDMAlliance

ms will stop at nothing to stay ontop,

You're one of the worst contributors to the Vgchartz community. All you do is stealth troll...

Wouldn't it make more sense to buy a refurbished unit instead of new? Which wouldnt really help MS, right? especially if your still gonna pirate and risk being banned again?

Apparently the people banning modified 360s "have been given instructions to push for a million banned accounts by the time the holidays are over." Since those banned 360s become pretty crippled (apparently they can't even use their HDDs anymore), will this force 1 Million people to buy new consoles?

As far as I know MS only ban consoles from Live. They can still use their HDD and console.

Gone is the ability to install games on hard drive.

Also gone is the ability to use multimedia features when connecting it to a PC.

And finally, gone is the ability to use your Profile online without losing gamerscore. So any gamerscore you get when playing on a banned xbox is wiped when you connect online.

So it's not in the name of stopping thievery, but just to increase sales?

Microsoft gets way too much shit thrown at them.
