Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Forza 3 cockpit view - it's adjustable -- anyone experiment with it?

I hope this isn't a repost... If it is, please lock it.

If you go into the Forza 3 setup menu and turn on multi-screen, it gives you the option of changing the angle.  If you increase the angle to something like 65 or 75 degrees, suddenly you are farther back from the wheel, you can see quite a bit more of the cockpit, more of your arms, and you can often see the entire side mirror.  You can also see quite a bit more out of the side of your window.

Here's why I find this really, really interesting.  There are more polygons to render when doing this and the game doesn't take a performance hit that I can see.  That means there is "some left in the tank" so to speak...  How much, who knows, but definitely some processing power that isn't being used.

Honestly, do JRPG makers even realize how hard it is to save the world? That shit is impossible!

@ KN - so I take it you either bought or rented it. What do you think?

I am trying to get up to the Austin bureau soon. When I roll up there, I'll look you up.

Hey kn, you forgot your troll repellent, here you go:

On Topic: Well, I mean how much more stress could a little bit of arm do to the game though? You think the cockpit would be fully animated, so it wouldn't matter anyway.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... @ Mad -

I bought it... I'm digging it so far. More cars, tracks, and generally just, well, more.

More arm and more cockpit rendered aren't that much more, but the side view mirror is very detailed and is normally not in full view (for many cars) until you "move back" some. I just thought it was odd a bit.

I have mine set to around 70 I think.

I have mine set to 70.  But I don't know why they made it so hard to ajust the cockpit view.  Seems pretty stupid imo because most people would not be able to figure that out...

I haven't t forza yet cause my ****ing store didnt get it yet, they should have it next week. i tryed the demo and they have xbox 360s with the gasme in so i can play the game. its great.

When you do this it disables the ability to rotate the cockpit camera.
