Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why is Valve generating more hatred than Bliizzard?

@Patapon LOL nice one

OP: It was said a million times already but it appears you might not see what some of us are saying. It isn't that Blizzard isn't doing anything for the consoles so all ire should be aimed at them because at least Valve is giving love to one console. The problem isn't even that Valve appears to not like the PS3. The problem is that they open their mouths and TRASH the PS3 with about zero grounds to back their smack talk. If they are able to open up and speak crap then those who disagree have every right to smack talk back.

This recent filth from them about the communities was ridiculous. The "hard to develop" for was code for "we are lazy and don't want to do something that isn't a simplistic port from PC to console (aka X360)." I for one used to like Valve and I agree that I would enjoy them putting some love on PS3, but only if they are willing to do it right.

So if you haven't figured it out yet, Blizzard isn't saying PS3's community is inferior. Blizz isn't crying that PS3 is too hard to develop for. Basically Blizzard isn't running around spouting trashy lies about PS3 (or X360 for that matter).

Because Valve won't STFU. They are not as good as they think they are.

maybe valve just does not have the talent, most good developers look for the challenge, when the game is done and its a great one, as a developer you feel very good, valve just does not have the talent to develop for the ps3, instead of being real about it, they use bull shit excusses and insult a console and the people playing on it, for me valve does not make anything i have to have , lsft for dead is good but many many better shooters out there, so screw em

Who says it is a job for a developer to seek challenge, or whatever? The industry is money driven.  If a developer doesn't want to develop for a console, and they can make money doing stuff for just one console, with less headaches, why berate them over it?  It is a business, where you make decisions on who to hire and not hire, and what to take on.  In the case of Valve, they had someone port the Orange Box to the PS3, and it didn't turn out well.  I recall reading they didn't want to see it happen again, so they don't want other games on the PS3.  And then, from there, it has apparently snowballed.  The press keeps returning to Valve asking them about this and that.

Again, where does life reward one to seek out challenges for their own sake?

Maybe people can stop asking the same damn question...and Valve will stop answering it the same way.

B, can somebody post these comments from Valve again that are so bad...please do.

I have to agree with this one point,a company can make millions or billions with very little effort look at Halo3 odst, they put halo on the cover and bam the 1 month of effort they put into the game was rewarded by trillions!!!LOL j/k im sorry.

And dude i've posted the links twice scroll bad before jumping into the kool-whip or ah kool-aid.

So I don't get this. People are actually defending their views about hating on Valve when there's developers just doing games for PS3 and not Xbox 360 or even PC? If we're gonna bash one company like Valve then you all should bash the other ones doing games exclusively for PS3, don't ya think?

Easy. Valve makes games for one console and insult the other/it's users etc.

Blizzard makes their games for the pc only. And as long as they don't insult other consoles I doubt thay'd get any hate for making games for one console either.

It isn't that simple.  HOWEVER, I do know game companies seek to build franchises that sell well, just by releasing it.

Your silly and missing the point
1. Its not about non console support its about non PS3 support.
2. Valve down talking the PS3 since this generation. They sound fanboyish. They are developers and I personally feel like they should take hold the moral standard.

Its just like politicians. Cheating doesnt affect their policy making decisions but yet it gets them in trouble.

So... Just like politicians they should lie and not say what they really think and are going to do?
