it just shows how ignorant valve is, i play on both ps3 and 360, the online is the same now, the only difference is sonys network is free. microsoft is paying valve.

In a way this is true. It is cheaper to sell games (and produce them) on the 360. Selling 5M copies of a game on 360 earns the dev as much profit as say (shot in the dark here) 6M copies sold on the ps3.

I don't mean to hold your feet to the fire, but where did you get that info?

for one, dvd vs BRD cost.

for two, console owner fee is cheaper on 360.

there are several more reasons.

Actually I think the quality difference between the two played a bigger role in how sales went there. The 360 version was vastly superior.

im not sure you are thinking about the same game as me.  as that isnt the case from what ive seen from comparisons.

Making Valve a bad guy by suggesting they're only interested in money isn't the right direction to go in. Obviously they like to make money, but Valve has always been a company that listens closely to what their players want. They really are a great company, which for whatever reason has a confusing relationship with the PS3 that no other developer this gen seems to have. Hopefully they'll hire some people who know how to code for the cell at some point. Not just for the PS3, but so Valve can keep being the great company it is on future generations of hardware (whatever that hardware ends up resembling).

the 360 version wasn't vastly superior, actually the textures looked better on PS3, but i contribute the low sales the Uncharted 2, people would pick that over the other.

The 360 online is better as ppl use mics and party chat. I am assuming they also mean larger thereby more ppl to sell dlc to

That's the cost Sony pays for having a retarded asinine look at CPU architecture

Also developing for the PC/Xbox 360 seams to be vastly more profitable than developing for PC/PS360... at least that's how Valve seems to look at it... and they usually are not far from the mark... they've been independent for a while and they led the digital distribution era

For those wondering whether Valve is changing their argument, note this is a different person saying this.

As tiring it is for PS3 fans to have to hear this, remember that these comments all seem to happen during interviews, not press statements. I think it must be just as tiring for the Valve employees to have to answer the same "Why isn't your game coming to Playstation 3?" or "When is your game coming to PS3?" question in every interview they partake in. If the question to HD console developers was regularly "Why isn't your game on the Wii?" I'm sure we would have some nasty comments slung that way also.

Just as a side-note, I read the first half of the interview, and none of this is in there. The PS3 is never mentioned. I don't know if it's contained in Part 2 of the interview, but that would be odd to see reporting on it since it isn't available yet to read.

I've played both my friend, the only advantage the PS3 had was textures. Everything else was in 360's favor. I don't make claims like that without some experience, or check the Lens of Truth.

I'm sorry i don't like the Lens of Truth, and damn CGI do you buy every game or did you rent it. Besides, are they really that noticable.

I hope Sony can convince Valve to work on PS3 soon.

If Valve annouces Half Life 3 as 360 console exclusive...it will be a pretty big deal.

yeah but the question is, are they sabotaging games to make sure they are more profitable?

It's been the case every time from valve and a couple others. But there are also devs that have been very capable and have called others lazy devs.
