Well we all knew that GameTrailers was going to have a Nintendo exclusive episode this morning. We also knew that the episode was going to include a brand new Zelda trailer and new interviews with Miyamoto and Reggie. What we didn't know was the topics brought up in the interview. More specifically WiiHD.

When asked what Reggie thought of Patchers latest predicition WiiHD for 2010. Reggie states that Patcher is the only one who believes WiiHD is coming in 2010. Then asked point blank "Will we see WiiHD in 2010" Reggie says "no". So their you have it straight from the Regginator no WiiHD in 2010. He doesn't deny that a WiiHD may be in development but clarifies that we won't see the next Wii come next year!

So what do you think?

Is this the same "no" he used when telling people there won't be any price drops on Wii only to annouce it few weeks later?

There won't be a WiiHD. There will be another system altogether, built and optimized for it (so they won't lose billions on the specs).

Ya dude, like most of the peeps here already guessed that 2010 is too early for the next Wii.

I was one of those guys. I think the next Wii is coming in Christmas 2011. Of course Nintendo isn't going to be launching their next Wii next year, it would be a year early and Nintendo always releases their consoles every 5 years! But its funny to see Reggie crushing Patchers dreams like that, then again Patcher has been predicting WiiHD for years now. Sooner or later he'll be right!

There will be a new console that is all.No Wii HD.

As for other parts of the video, what do you think of Zelda's gameplay role in Spirit Tracks?

I think its pretty awsome. I never expected a spirit of Zelda helping Link through his quest. Nintendo really hit me hard with the trailer. Then again I'll pick this up but its a sequel to PhantomHourGlass which I also bought but haven't really got around to playing (I ownly play my portable games on the go).

It's true that after the price drop I can't really believe anything they say any more.

But a Wii HD in 2010? No way. 2011-12? Maybe. But it's not going to have HD graphics as a focus and it certainly won't be called "Wii HD". Nintendo is obviously going to stick with their successful strategy of creating new innovations that expand the marketplace.
