I tried Tekken 6 down at local game store. But I will give it a miss. Too much like Tekken 5. Buy it if you are a Tekken fan and get an Arcade controller, because the analogue controller feels awkward. Gameplay is same old Tekken style - button mashing. Not as good as the arcade version of the game - console versions never fully capture the glory of the Arcade games. The online game play has received very bad reviews, but patches should fix the problems. 7 out of 10

I don't understand why people say that tekken is button mashing.. it's gameplay is really deep, and there is NO WAY you can beat an experieced player with button mashing...

Listen to the voice of reason, then do as I say.

If they didn't I believe there would be less negative comments in this regard because some people will subconciously find it looking more like the ps2 game.

This is why there is the customisation part of the game. While there have been few new costumes anyway, Jin's 3rd costumer has changed, some have a 3rd when they didn't before. And like usual, Yoshimitsu has changed completely again. But customisation allows you to change your character, even the basic main colours they have (I think, haven't properly gone through it other then for Scenario to make my characters a bit more beefy).

I know. But by leaving their default costumes like tekken 5, some might not think it looks as "fresh" as it would otherwise. Subconciously.

@selnor. Frankly I only replied because you sometimes misinform. You tend to hype up multiplat versions of a type of ps3 game thats beinfg hyped or if possible a counterpart 360 exclusive. While I dont mind that at all. I do mind that you do it to discredit ps3 games, and everytime you turn out wrong you pretend nothings happened.

Examples ?

Graphics of both Dragon age origins before it was announced multiplat and graphics of forza 3. After both were disproven you've just stayed quiet and hoped ? no-one would bring it up. Regardless, I don't want to stir up anything and derail the thread so whatever.

If you did indeed play it, you should try t5dr online before saying it looks last gen. Even though it runs at 1080p with 60fps theres a humongous difference in every aspect of the game.

Dude. Tekken 6 is awesome. I was afread i'd get bored of it fast because i'd gotten kind of bored of dark resurrection but no... Tekken 6 is Fucking Epic. Everyone who says otherwise .. Don't count :P

Theres a scenario mode like devil within, only it doesn't suck. The graphics are pretty bad in this mode, but it has a LOT OF STORY ! and RPG elements via items that'll let you upgrade your chars. The targeting system is pretty decent once you learn it and camera angles aren't terrible either.. They aren't great though :p
It's around 8 hours long with 40 stages, one for each char in the game (to my knowledge) and it takes you all around the place.
Not only that, but ingame conversations change depending on your char. For instance, when I had kazuya and was playing through it.. Well when I met paul kazuya said paul had become "pathetic" XD.. Epic win !

The Regular fighting is as great as ever.. No wait, it's better !
The overall fluidity of the game has been greatly improved, graphics are great and so is rage mode. It can really turn a game around, but only if you aren't getting juggled when you go into rage :p otherwise you're likely finished.

Animations have won ! the ending movies are as good as ever and overall this game is.. Win.

I'd have liked a bowling or volleyball mode but I won't complain. Only a few things are slightly annoying.
1. No offline co-op in scenario campaign. The graphics certainly aren't the reason for this lol :p
2. When continue, you have to load the fight again.. that can get slightly annoying.. cause the final boss is freakin cheap.

Anyways.. Is it worth it ? Fuck yes ! I've played it too much ! and i'm still no-where near tired of it yet !

Tekken is back !

I have to agree here. This is Tekken people, it's back. The characters, the moves, the story, the lightning fast gameplay.

My only gripe with the visuals are the environments, they could have used some polish. Other than that, the character models are top notch and NOT of last gen quality. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but that is just a bit off.

Put it this way, if you've enjoyed past Tekken games, you'll enjoy this one. No, Tekken 6 isn't perfect, but it's still a Tekken, and has the same moves, gameplay, story, and characters that Tekken fans have grown so fond of. Of course there are new characters as well, but like I said, if you're a Tekken fan, go with this.

If you care to have noticed I have credited Uncharted, MGS4, Killzone 2, Motorstorm and Resistance 1 over the time Ive been on VGchartz. So much so I am getting them at Xmas. Just because I discredit other titles means thats all people see????????????

I was looking forward to Tekken. I will play it more, but at this point I'm no longer buying it. I dont misinform. I give my opinion. Generally I am pretty close to the average of opinions. But not always. Theres plenty of 360 games Ive steered clear of. Banjo Nuts and Bolts for instance was really poor when I played it. I was planning an article on it to. I wouldnt have asked for a PS3 for Xmas if I didn't actually want one.

Fair enough. Maybe I was a bit rash in judging you based on some past things.

Regardless. If you don't like the gameplay then that's it. But if you do, i advice you to give the game another chance. There is a reason it's one of the biggest fighting franchises ever. Each char has up to 160 moves and each control radically differently. It's a insanely deep game.. It takes more than 5-6 fights to get a hang of... Properly.. Although it has a very low entry level as people can start out with only the basic knowledge that each limb is assigned to a face button and still pull out alright.

Tekken 6 is disappointing. It sucks that the character's story are now in Scenario Mode (similar to Devil Within) instead of the Arcade mode. The Scenario mode is terrible; controlling your character in it sucks. It sucks the story are in this mode. I really enjoyed watching each character's story, but I don't think I will here since that mode is shit. To me, the Devil Within stuff was an unwanted extra. If I want a 3D action game, I'll go play Ninja Gaiden or something. I just want a fighting game. The load times are terrible. I didn't think it was going to bother me, but wow, it takes 10 - 12 seconds to load up a battle. It really gets annoying after a while.

Gameplay is just more of the same. If you liked the past, you'll like this one. The offline modes got boring already; they're mostly the same as Tekken 5. There is this new Ghost mode, but it's just nonstop battles. To be honest, I mainly play Tekken for the arcade mode (stories) and sometimes to have some fun with friends. Now, there's no compelling reason to play the Arcade mode. I'm having fun with the online play though. Had some interesting matches. Haven't had a problem with it yet.

Rent it or wait for a price drop. I have played every Tekken game btw.

i just got it today, its the first game i've ever OWNED (my uncle had 1,2 and 3 so i played them, dont think i played 4 or 5 though... ) and i gotta same, its good but nearly as good as King of Fighters 2006 or Soul Calibur IV of this gen. i only played abit, but the moves are WEIRD, i cant combo anything right!!
