Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Just finished Dead Space: Extraction.... WOW

You should play the original Dead Space....talking about atmosphere

The original Dead Space is awesome but I have to say I though extraction was pretty damn awesome too...just not as awesome.

I didn't really like the first Dead Space, I played it on PC, had first saving issues glitches... Problem is, graphics are good, but that's the only thing good, you wait too much to find enemies. Bosses are okay, but gameplay is really bad because of the controls (played with a 360 controller). RE4:WE is better imho.

My main issue with DS:E is the fact that you can't really choose the guns you can take with you.

I agree with the above poster, Dead Space: Extraction was better than Dead Space.

Dead Space: Extraction is by far the best on-rails shooter I've ever played.  Dead Space (original) is not even close to the best 3rd person survival horror I've played. Not to mention the bugs, crap gamepad controls, and so on.  DSE is perfection.

PC + Wii owners unite.  Our last-gen dying platforms have access to nearly every 90+ rated game this gen.  Building a PC that visually outperforms PS360 is cheap and easy.    Oct 7th 2010 predictions (made Dec 17th '08)
PC: 10^9
Wii: 10^8

It was a horrible decision to try and make a rail shooter for DSE after several other rail shooters were released/rereleased on the Wii at budget prices. I think they failed to take into account that a large reason HOTD 2/3 and Ghost Squad were appealing purchases was because of the cheaper price tag.

With that said, $30 is about all I'll pay for a rail shooter, and part of the reason why I haven't played DSE yet. The other reason is because I'm a total pussy when it comes to horror games. :)

Currently playing: Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, NBA2k11, Metal Gear Solid, Picross 3d

I'll think about this when it drops in price, but even cheap games tend to be not that cheap here (Australia).

Ugh! This bullshit again.

If it's just a test game, it would have gotten Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop reviews instead of decent reviews. The test was their attempt to test the waters of developing "hardcore" games for the Wii (mission failed btw).

Reviews are biased anyways. There's no way I am paying $50 for a spinoff test game when I could buy the better version on either Xbox360 or PS3 at 2/5 the price. In other words, the real game only cost $20 while this test game costs $50. Justify that.

Exactly.  Why didn't they make a "hardcore" game to test with instead of this over priced rails shooter?  They should test a "rails" shooter on a PS3/360 if they want to test a genre change for "hardcore" games.

I may pick it up when it reaches $20, but no thanks at $49.

Remember Guncon for PS3?

I played through the first level so far and it was fantastic.
