Regardless, I would say the 360 was rushed for all the right reasons, but with consequences. For Microsoft though, they're ahead of Sony, I'd say for them, it payed off.

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

Ya it was rushed,if they waited it would probably not have had as many problems,but I think it was the right decision cause if they waited I think the ps3 would be ahead.For the 720 I dought it will have the same problems cause they probably plan on releasing it ahead of the ps4 again.Unless sony anounces ps4 for 2011 which i HIGHLY dought I really dont think microsoft wants another unreliable system

Then that damned Wii came along and thwarted their plan for world console domination. Damn you Nintendo! you'll get yours one day!! You and your cheap arsed TOY. If it wasn't for you they could OF been the greatest. They had the best plan releasing 1 year ahead of everyone, they should OF had an unassailable lead. But for Nintendo they would OF taken their rightful place as number 1 console maker and never given it up. Now they are heading into holiday 2009 wondering what might OF been.

well microsoft would have decent console maybe.
but sony would have managed to keep their thunder and they would rock this party like 1996 all over again.

It was "rushed" because Microsoft wanted to get the jump on Sony. No I don't think the next system will have the problems. Microsoft has now gotten their foot in the door so they can take their time on the next console. The original Xbox was a super solid machine. Expect the next to be the same.

well it might have done them well this gen, but what  about next gen? say if MS comes out with the Xbox 720(unofficial name) don't you think that this 360 fiasco might hurt Microsoft's credibility?

Perhaps, but I can't see Microsoft repeating this fiasco. I believe they got what they wanted for the most, they currently have Sony clawing back marketshare from them, something that was unimaginable 3-4 years ago. I applaud Microsoft's efforts this gen, even if I don't agree with some of their business decisions around them.

Put it this way, the Xbox 360, as the PS3 has done for the PS4, has laid an excellent foundation for the 720.

What business decisions do you disagree with?
