Forums - Nintendo Discussion - first crystal bearers review!

What? Not a perfect score from Famitsu? It must be crap, as they're give everything a perfect score :P anyway sounds good to me a couple of the guys obviously saw it as a great game with 2 8s the FFCC series never gets the love of its main series brethren gets. Hopefully I can get some written (translated) reviews soon (just scores are a terrible indication if a game is good or not)

This game needs bundling. Sony does it all the time, and it has been quite helpful thus far, especially for establishing fledgling franchises (see Uncharted).

At least they DID make an effort to advertise the game in Japan, though; although given its obviously Western influence, I see it being bigger in the U.S. than in Japan (it'll still manage to clear more than 100K though, making it another 100K seller for Wii).

I don't know. Wii games have been very unpredictable in Japan. Monster Hunter 3 is closely followed by Taiko Drum Master, Okami sells almost as much as Super Robot Taisen Neo. I won't be surprised to see this game either successful (300-400k) or completely bomb (100k-)

@outlawauron

Nope, that's Tales of Graces. That is certain to sell at least 200k, seeing as even ToS2 sold that much.

That means review copies have been sent out already? VGC hasn't received ours yet...

Is VGC getting a Japanese review copy?

Ok, I gots the hint by point

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

I'm predicting that it'll fall somewhere inbetween the 250-300K mark; probably not a huge hit, but a reasonably decent one.

From that link:

"The story, woven by a cast of colorful characters, is extremely fascinating," one reviewer wrote. "The way the story develops, along with the unique characters and world setting, is brilliant. There are lots of little details to everything."

On the other hand, according to Famitsu, The Crystal Bearers has a fair amount of annoying niggles. "The telekinesis setup is fun -- you get to perform a lot of actions in the playable events, but I wish people gave more of a response to getting moved around," one writer said.

"The levels are well-made and full of gimmicks," wrote another, "but the map doesn't give you much info, making it hard to figure out where you are at times. It's hard to get a grip on your surroundings, and the game feels a bit like a long fetch quest, But the playable events and wide variety of minigames ensure that players never get bored."

As is typical, the words sound much more positive than the numbers look. The complaints sound like quibbles to me.

As long as it's not horrible I was planning to pick it up.

I've never played a Final Fantasy game before in my life.
Do you all think that would matter for this game?

30/40?
mmmmmmmmm... not as good as I Expected for this game, but I'm still decided to pick up my copy when the game is finally on sale in Others... first quarter 2010?

I really hate when I 've the feeling that when a spin off in out on sale, no matter how goog is it. Critics reviewed in a lower way than the original franchise, isn't it?
Examples could be: Dead Space Extraction, PES Wii, Resident Evil "on Rails", etc....

Not at all. There's rarely any direct links between FF games.
