Lol? REmake and RE Zero were not part of the agreement.

Capcom 5 were Dead Phoenix (Never released), RE 4 (Released on PS2, PC, Iphone, etc), Viewtiful Joe ( Released on PS2), Killer7 (Released on PS2) and P.N. 03.

Like Khuutra Said, Capcom's One.

it's part of Capcom and NIntendo agreement but not the Capcom 5 titles. Also it's interesting to see how none of the other Capcom 5 games had bigger sales on other consoles (specially Killer 7)

@mai: Too late in the Wii's life. Probably a 2012 game being optimist.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Nintendo is coming with kick-ass games soon enough. Now they need to convince third parties to make kick-ass game for the Wii.

Yeah well, the clock is ticking. I cant see no kick-ass nintendo games in the near future.

Galaxy 2 and Metroid M still dosent have a release date.

And the clock still ticking

Err Metroid Prime Corruption sold 70k in Japan...

So that's not the kick ass Nintendo software that will boost sales...

obviosly not, i dont think first person games are popular in japan

Why even arguing about this? even iwata says it, the price cut didnt bring momentum and certainly its the same situation in NA.

The game that bring the Wii real momentum was WSR and Wii fit plus and the price cut only make the wii lost its initial value, and now many potential buyers will wait for more pricecuts. I wont be surprised if the Wii will pricecut for another 50 next year...

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

E3 2010- Tape runs out

Actually, I was thinking if Wii won't die till that time and portables will be on downward trend in Japan, could DQX release on Wii bring home consoles back to relevance in Japan again? PS2 peaked in Japan very early software-wise, while DS grabbed a big part of the market a bit later. Could it be a reverse situation when home consoles and particularly Wii will significantly rise in software late in it's lifespan when spot of mighty DS and not so mighty but still relevant PSP will be vacant for awhile, before their successors will come to full power? DQX release might be handy, it may give a huge software bump in short term.

^just random thoughts.

The Wii in Japan has gone from being the fastest selling home console, to having the worst 2nd year since the NES, and will now have the worst 3rd year (by far) ever for a leading home console (see here, ommitted PS2 due to odd launch timing).

They will need some killer software to build momentum. It won't be easy - the Vitality Sensor being a massive hit is a must. Honestly, if they cared that much about the Wii doing well in Japan, I think they could have put off some of their DS efforts (e.g. 2 handheld Zelda's long before a console release) in favor of the Wii.

3rd parties cannot be blamed for the Wii's failure in Japan. When Nintendo needs them, they secure them (MH3, DQX). The real problem is, they have been unable to create enough system sellers (like Wii Fit, MKWii). Wii Music, Animal Crossing, and to a point even SMG/Zelda were not the hits Nintendo had hoped for. I just think they haven't put out enough great motion controlled games, the Wii's main strength. The Motion+ software is taking too long!

true but didnt ya know?... japan is becoming more of handheld fans then consoles it self these days which is sad.. what nintendo needs to do is convince the japanese market to come back to the home consoles. even the japanese market isnt buying a ps3 or 360 which is sad.

Probably only for Japan.  Even if Nintendo's advertising boost for DQIX helps Dragon Quest outside of Japan, it probably won't make it some massive million dollar seller overnight in time for DQX.  And following SquareEnix patterns of how they handle the localizations of Dragon Quest, if DQX were to release in Japan in 2012, we might not even see it until 2013 or even later.  And by that time, the next Nintendo console might even be out.

Well, Japan is starting to buy more consoles.  And they already have a ton of Wii consoles sold.  The problem is they aren't buying any software for those consoles.  They just buy a PS3 and 1-2 games or a Wii and WiiFit/Mario Kart/'Pokemon Title'.  Then buy 20 DS games.  And that's what I think Iwata was trying to get accross.

Six upcoming games you should look into:

Wasn't Iwata talking about Japan particularly?
