My internal memory for the PS2 on the PS3 was corrupted today somehow.  I was 32 hours into Persona 3 FES, too.  It destroys my chances of beating FFXII as well.  My brother doesn't even know about this since he is at work.  I will probably have to get Persona 3 Portable now since I am not willing to play over 30 hours just to get where I got up to before it happened.  I thought everyone on here should know about my experience so that they are prepared if it ever happens to them.

Ever since I had one of those 32Mb memory cards for the ps2, without backups, and it completely died on me with 3 years worth of saves.

Wow that sucks! One time on my ps1 I had all sorts of saved data and then I let my little cousin play it and he felt the need to save over absolutely everything.

I remember playing gran turismo on playstation 1. I had all the cars except 2 and before starting my quest to get those 2, i decided it was a smart move to save. While saving, the power went in my house and voila down to zero cars:(

The internal memory was fine yesterday. There wasn't any serious problems until this morning when Persona 3 wouldn't save at all. It was a few hours later when I learned the horrible truth. The good news is that only my PS2 saves were affected whereas my PS3 and PS1 saves seem to be fine. Apparently, I wasn't the only person who suffered this fate. The bad news is that my brother still doesn't know since he was already at work when I found out. It's going to be really hard to tell him since he had nearly 30 hours invested in Persona 3. Not to mention I had about 40 hours in FFXII.

I know it is a really good game.  The issue is that I had over 30 hours invested in the game before the corruption occured.  It would be very hard to play the game all over again with that many hours invested.  A similar thing occured for some people with Twilight Princess.  Stuff like this prevents people from beating games.
