Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Anyone actually think the Natal is gonna be a success?

I see there is talk about Natal could potentially give boost to 360 sales. Based on videos it seems like a great idea.

I just can't imagine people are going to actually have a Natal unless its dirt cheap or it comes bundled with the console. It seems like a device that will appeal to casual gamers so bundling makes sense. Its basically just a camera so its probably cheap to manufacture. Also MS needs to include some sort of mini games like WiiSports.

Otherwise, I don't see the Natal having much of an impact. And if its about $100 it'll definitely fail.

We will have to wait until we see some software.

I believe it was Selnor who said that it would double the 360's sales

Just like the Wii would flop and GTA 4 would kill it?

its always good to hope...jus enriches our experience

Personally, I think it will be no more successful than Home or PSEye

i think it will appeal to new comers to the 360 mostly. i think the majority of "hardcore" gamers will hate it just cause. I think it will boost 360 sales if it is marketed well, comes at a reasonable price and most importantly releases with great software.

Secondary accesories have iffy chances of success. It all depends on the software packaged. The original Light Gun worked becuase you could get it as part of the Nintendo bundle. Super Scope not so well. Guitars worked because it enhances the game. PSeyetoy didn't really because it was a loose end perphial. Balance Board worked because it was a natural part of the excerise programs. While I believe Natal will be an enchancement for future interfaces. I believe it will come out in different forms. Could people imagine that any DVD/TV Media Player would come with somekind of Natal(cheaper) variant. So I don't believe Natal will succeed, but I bleilive that Natal is a precursor to TV interaction in another form.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I say no becaust MS's first party Dev's are weaker then say Nintendo and you need that support when you're trying to convince people to buy an Add-on.

Well what is a success for you? I think Natal might make it past 10 million. Is this a success?

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
