Personally, I don't see much special about the 360 over the PS3. The wii offers more diversity in terms of exclusives from the PS3 and goes well with either the 360 or PS3. Now if you get all 3 consoles that is ideal. For only two, I suggest at least one of them be a Wii.

Don't worry about the RROD. It's not really any more common than problems with the PS3 or Wii now, and with the 3 year warranty for RROD there it should not be a significant factor for your consideration.

My 360 is used as a DVD player more often than to play video games. I definitely play more video games on the Wii than the 360, but to be fair I had my wii longer and so my collections for the Wii is larger.

Off topic....is that Pazuzu (your avatar)?  On topic, I agree, the wii as a companion console or your main console is a must.  Personally if you already have a ps3 it makes more since to get a wii, especially seeing that 95% of the 360's games are on the ps3.  If he already "had" a Wii then he should choose which ever console fits his taste.

Actually it's from my wife's book:   http://www.lulu.com/content/1181710

I think you should wait a year to get one. So many great exclusives are coming out for the ps3 between now and next holiday season. By the time next holiday season comes around, I have a feeling that besides resistance 3 and maybe another unnanounced exclusive, 360 will have a more apealing Q4 lineup and will be cheaper than this year and come bundled with Natal. Theres are plenty of experiences that can only be found on ps3 right now, but when Natal comes out, whether it's an experience that's good or bad, it'll be one that is much different from the experiences found on the other systems, and it'll make sense to get one at the time, especially if your looking for something different.

If you are going to be playing with your PS3 most of the time, then I don't think RRod should be a problem. Buy the 360. I am sure you will have a good time playing on-line with your cousin. If money is not an issue, buy a Wii too. Get Zelda TP, SuperMario Galaxy and do not forget the casual stuff: WiiFit and Wii Sports Resort. Don't be a narrow-minded fanboy, be a happy gamer.
