^^ VAIO and Walkman are included, and MS lost about 6 billion in Xbox 1 era

actually MS lost 4.202 billion for the first xbox, meaning sony lost more than when MS entered the industry (though not by much).

@Seraphic

nintendo has NEVER lost money in a single quarter

SEGA lost loads....but nowhere near as much as PS3/Xbox 1.....but the losses they made were big enough for them to get out of console production

MS made huge losses

Sony as a company have problems and this is simply down to sub par management.

During the Gamecube era there was a single quarter when they lost money, but only about $20-30m and mainly because of an unfavorable exchange rate.

are you sure about that? I'm pretty sure Nintendo has never posted a loss for any quarter ever.

Got a link?

Aren't companies supposed to quit when they're losing billions of dollars a year? What the hell's wrong with these people?

Sony and MS are big companies, a 4 billion loss won't hurt em. But a 4 billion loss for Nintendo would be devestating.

How could you trust such a beautiful delicate art form like game design to a gigantic corporation that can't even spend a single day without losing 3 million dollars?

@the ghost of rubang

SONY can't give up cus playstation is too powerful a brand for them to loose

if nex-gen they sell PS4 at a profit from the start, the division can make em tons of money
