If NSMB has a simliar attach rate to Mario Kart (+30%) that's 18 million copies @ 60M Wiis.

A attach rate similar to Wii Sports in Japan (~40%) would be 24 million. Wii Fit in Europe, 45% = 27M.

It will hit 20 million.

I think 10%-15% is more realistic to expect from a game like nsmb. 6-9 million. It's a watered down Mario World. The difficulty level, level design are both watered down fom Mario World.

Kinda like how Mario Kart Wii is a 'watered down' Mario Kart Double Dash?

10% is delusional.

Does anyone honestly think the DS NSMB was a challanging as Mario World?

From the videos we have seen it doesnt look nearly as intricate or challenging a mario world. Hell, every iteration of nintendo's franchises were more challenging on the snes. Why would the hardcore care for this game when it doesnt look like its going be frustrating at all? Or tell me that you dont think nintendo games have become easier over the years...

This may be the first Wii-related prediction on which he was right.

A guy from the official Nintendo magazine already played through the whole game and said that it is easily as challenging as Super Mario World, if not moreso. He said there's frustration in the game, but in a good way. There's a Q&A thread in the Nintendo forum, if you are interested to learn more about the game.

Besides, what do the hardcore have to do with the success of this game? Them not buying the game won't prevent it from easily surpassing 10m lifetime.

Generally, all games have become easier over the years. Nowadays we have selfregenerating health and tons of checkpoints in many games. Oddly enough and contrary to popular belief on message boards, it's often Nintendo games which haven't been simplified to that level and reviewers confirm it by docking points, because the games are too hard. The prime example would be Mario Kart Wii where the majority of reviewers whined that the game depends too much on luck while it actually was them sucking at the game. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn got bashed for its brutal difficulty too.

In summary, I fail to see your point, because you have none.

Did they actually compare it to Mario World specifically? And were they talking about the singleplayer mode?

60 million wii's? at the more it's more liek 57.5 million, but it will pass 60 million in November.

it MAY pass 60 million, but I don't know if it WILL.

it needs some 5.5 million more units from here to NOV 30 to get to 60 million.

mM

it's going to be like every other 2 d mario, easy untill about world 3 , medium till world 5, working on hard untill 7 and lvl 8 will make you want to fucking scream at the cheap hits and gap placement. keep in mind that this is the view of a guy with wonky depth perception and a right eye that feeds 2 seconds too slow. with the new play assist, i am willing to bet that even you vets will join me in the hair pulling tho because everything i have read sugests that they used this to max the difficulty.

as for sales, it's a 4 player side scroling MARIO game, launching during peak sales season which will have an insane amout of advertising do to strong( well stonger anyways) compation and the first holiday season where nintendo will be able to fill demand for the wii. 6 miillion lifetime? yeah right i will be surprised if it dosen't cross 6 million before new years.

I don't think it'll do nearly as good as MW2 will do on week 1, but I can see NSMB Wii selling around 100k units per week (at least in the US) for months to come, and this game will have ridiculously long legs. This is the kind of game that appeals to pretty much all Wii owners, and will also be a system seller as well.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Yes I'm thinking people are really going to be shocked with its sales
Its certainly going to sell less than MW2, Less than 10million is a given, Im thinking theres a possibility it will sell less than 5 million!!!

All bow to me the VGChartz current reigning 3DS prediction champion

Bet with tbone51: Pokeon X & pokemon Y will not sell more than 8 million in 2013

July 2009 daveJ saidTrue the wii has a large lead now but by 2017 the most likely result will be 1. ps3 2. xbox360 3. wii <-- wii's successor launched in 2011 effectively killing sales of the wii

2009 daveJ said: The wii will not break the 50% marketshare barrier it will go below the 40% marketshare barrier though in the future. VGChartz members: Impossible, youre an idiot that knows nothing about sales

hey guys stop dissing Pachter, hes actually the most well informed guy on this entire thing.

Althought it was pretty clear what type of game sjournalists these guys are when they focus soley on PS360, hardly mention PC or wii and ignore the handhelds. Still comments like 'theres nothing for the hardcore on wii' seems far too ignorant for a professional journalist.

best comment of the entire thing:

nah im not excited about NSMBWii, its just mario again and i prefer new stuff. Bring on zelda instead!

and best comment that actually makes sense:

You know, Nintendo’s a victim of their own success because had they known how big the Wii was going to be when they launched it, they would have launched it 100 bucks higher. And they would have managed price down to keep demand constant. So instead of selling 25 million Wiis a year, if they had sold 15, people would say ‘Oh my God, you’re geniuses. You’re outselling PS3 and 360.’ And this year they could sell 16 million with this cut. And everybody thinks they’re great. Instead they’re selling 20 million this year and we’re talking about what losers they are. That’s just crazy. They’re killing it…”
