I feel a little disappointed with the sales but that's only because early data suggested that the game was over a million week one but the game should have legs and ND have already stated that Uncharted 3 is inevitable. Plus on the bright side the movie has been announced and the developers seem quite thrilled about it so things are looking good for the franchise right now. You also have to remember though that this is the 5th best PS3 opener ever so kudos to ND for making a great game and they deserve absolutely every sale they get and then some.

I couldnt agree more.

I just bought all of the bonus videos after my second playthough and theyre awesome and the people at ND deserve it.

I think most of our disappointment is only because ND deserve more sales and the game is so amazing that i dont think any number of purchases justify how awesome it is.

But strictly talking about number of sales, 5th best PS3 opener is nothing to be disappointed about in the grand scheme of things, especially when two of the games that beat it out were the first MG and GTA of the PS3.

Too bad all 4 of those that beat it did so with a much smaller userbase huh?

Yep it actually is too bad. But you have to look at the sales spike it gave the PS3 also. This franchise is nowhere near as big as MGS or GTA or most of Nintendo's big first party titles but oh well lol, don't make such a big deal about it. There's a third coming out and movie coming out so how can anyone be dissapointed? The only thing that really dissapoints is what steverhcp has already stated and that is the game is so fantastic that it deserves more sales than it's getting.

Yeah you really have to have the proper perspective on this. But it's pretty much said already that this game deserves more sales but 880K first week is good for a PS3 title. We aren't talking about 360 titles here or at least we weren't but in all fairness the game is awesome and it should have good legs.

I don't know why you keep saying 880k, it sold 830k, that is a 50k difference in case you never took first grade math...

...sorry, lol. Just to sink to your level "I've only said it twice" said the first grader to the kindergartner

You guys are all wasting your time here.

Just check this topic by madkiller and tell me you don't regret it...

Have fun getting banned there buddy. That thread has nothing to do with this thread, is really old, and you just violated several forum rules. The entire purpose of your reply is a personal attack that is completely off-topic and has nothing to do with what we are talking about. Plus, sorry to tell you but what I said is completely true since PS3 is going to remain in last place this generation, period...

Acting in self defense already?

You think me bringing a clear point about why your posts are not very well thought out will get me banned, but you bringing Modern Warfare 2 to win Game of the Year award into this unrelated discussion will not?

And really, what you said is completely true?

"The PS3 did not win in any region since the numbers of all 3 consoles in Americas is virtually identical, so close in fact that the margin of error negates any possibility of calling it a win. Then it got destroyed 2 to 1 in Others and basically sold nothing at all in Japan (less than 2k)."

Aren't you ashamed to say that you were completely right?

Anyway, I don't want to get involved into this discussion and my point was to tell people stop this pointless discussion as I believe it is a complete waste of time.

Ashamed? How? The PS3 is still in dead last place and will stay there. Plus, you might want to re-read that bolded part as it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever out of context like that...

"If you don't like me, bite me!"

Europe's first week was only 2 days of data!!!!!!

And since when does game of the year have anything to do with sales?

Considering how well Uncharted 1 did and how popular it was, I agree. If this was on the xbox, it would have sold 1 million in a few days. Again, developers suffer by releasing exclusives on the ps3. I believe that with time, developers will switch to the xbox and there will be very few exclusives for the ps3.

I am myself a ps3 owner and am disappointed at fellow ps3 owners that ran out to buy fifa and reserve modern warfare 2 but did not care about uncharted 2. Why should developers spend money and time developing exclusives for the ps3? Look at Halo ODST. Other developers must have seen the amount Bungie are making by developing a popular seroes of games on the xbox and will follow suit.

ROFL! He's nearly 30 years old, still a student, has no girlfriend ... and plenty of spare time to derail a thread. Now THAT is funny! hahaha

OT:
Give it time people, 2 days of European data. I can see this doing 3.5M+ LTD, alot higher than the original Uncharted!
