Gears of War 2's horde mode is way more fun to me then anything in Halo....

So i go Gears. Horde mode being my favorite part by far.

Gears of War 2. I find Gears much more entertaining and fun to play than Halo.

Gears 2, and year Horde above the other console MP.

About the controls... I think Gears movement being slow is also something that helps with the controls feeling right... you're moving a human tank around, turning slowly isn't shocking and it also lets you be more accurate.
Heck it's the only shooter I think i'd prefer with a controler over a M+K

Halo's multiplayer gameplay and balance is tweaked to perfection. Thus, it gets the nod from me.

If Gears 2 didn't have horde it would have been a 6 hour long game experience and an average one at that. Gears tends to be way too scripted with the vehicle sections, QTE and linear shooting.

Halo on the other hand gives you the freedom to use the terain and surroundings and figure out how to beat the bad guys. ITs much more engaging to run for your life when a hammer wielding brute is chasing you than to just dig in for cover and shoot a guys down in Gears.

And this is before the multiplayer starts which halo rapes almost any game in with coop and online deathmatch.

@Kasz216 - if you liked Horde mode, Firefight in ODST should be something you will enjoy as its ebtter than horde in every way. But horde was here first so it gets a point for that...

I like Gears series more. It has both amazing gameplay and graphics.

Firefight is fun but has only one option to play, in Horde we can chose if we want to play a classic Horde or maybe "King of the Hill" etc.

Halo is so much better then Gears IMO. I don't like the dark, gritty environment so much in gears and I also don't like the shooting mechanics (how it usually takes over a whole clip to kill an enemy) as much. Lastly I like Halo better because its FPS instead of TPS.

i don't think it's close. gears was innovative and just incredibly badass. halo3 was pretty much the HD version of the first two with forge.

Gears of War rapes every version of Halo violently and fiercely. Halo 3 is the most average game I have ever seen, and if it wasn't for GTA4, I would say the most overrated.

I just like Gears' one life per round style deathmatch. It feels like it takes so much more skill than Halo, even though I know there are people who will disagree.

Team SWAT does kick serious ass though.

Edge goes to Halo, but I love both!

I like the Gears single player better. But I like Halo's multiplayer and co-op better. Since I play the multiplayer more than I will ever play the single player I have to give the edge to Halo.

If Gears 2's matchamking actually worked I would probably give the nod to gears 2. But for now I cannot.
